Thread: Seeker Droid pricing
I'm not trying to undercut anyone. It's what I can afford. The Guild I'm in shares resources and I have plenty. All I know is I think it's a fair price, I'm making tons of money and having a great time. My customers love me and my shop! MOOtastic!

Hes like the Wal-Mart of DE's
I've done the math on thois once before when I suggested that they add 5 and 10 charges. The actual price we pay to make the Seekers at 3:1 is 688 credits and Arakyd are 788cr.That doesnt include any maintainence cost or the cost for power on a factory if you make factory runs of any of the parts or the droids themselves.
I had them at 1000 for seekers and 5000 for probes and wastold by BH's that other DE's were way under selling me. I went to each shop and then decided to lower my prices. Right now im at 750cr for a seekerand 1000cr for a probe ... whichbecause Iharvest my own materials and do factory runs I am still making about a50% profit.
Ultimately these items are a "loss leader" and serve to bring people into your store... I put Probots in the same vendor so the BH's see the other combat droids as well and I get quite a few impulse buys from this.

ok Iam a master DE on sunrunner, i sell them at 1200/2500 and do a lot of biz, so Iam not droping my price.. If your under this price you are not helping the rest of us, but to each there own ... They will sell at my price if u have yours lower or not so I will just kleep makeing more money than you
Iam just happy I selling anything, its good to be needed... now lets just get the bugs worked out, Iam in no rush but I hope its all fixed by the end of the year for Iam giveine the game till Xmass then if its not fixed Iam done with it .... ok well there ya go.... Zearon MDE Sunrunner (XenCopr)
All I can say is Madcat and MrMoo are perfect examples of why Player Based Economies aren't good ideas.
But the bright side is, they'll both bankrupt not only themselves, but whatever PA they're relying on. So, at least the whole thing will balance out.
I've seen at least one person on my server selling seekers at 500. Kinda sad really, because these people are virtually guaranteeing that our profession will remain useless even when fixed. Why bother making Droids if someone's going to sell that at a fraction of the cost to make them?
I appreciate that everyone needs to make a living... That said, the old 3 credits per resource pricing basis is a little off. If you're going to be competitive, you need to factor your overhead based on what it costs to harvest your own. I know that harvesting my own resources is so inexpensive, that I can turn a nice profit selling droids at 3 credits per resource. I generally don't do that, but could.
My BH droid prices, 600 per seeker, 1200 per Arakyd. For crates, I give a discount. 2500 for seeker crates, 5000 for Arakyd crates. I more than cover all of my expenses selling primarily these. If you get a factory run of each and can sell them, that is 150k. 2 runs of each, 300k. If you can't cover expenses and build up some wealth on that...

1.5k single seeker or 7.5k a crate.. Probes go for 2k single (havent make a factory run of these yet, dunno how many come out in a crate.. I would assume 5 but you never know...)
They all come 5 to a crate... Warning however (this more to the buyer than the seller) there is NO WAY to tell from looking at a crate if it is prepatch or post patch droids in the crate! For this reason, I will not sell in crates at this time.
Believe me, I'm not going bankrupt - I have over 750k credits in the bank, mostly due to selling the seekers and arakyds. My PA is going strong and we just joined with another to start on the route of a player city. Resources are plentiful.
Just because maybe your business isn't doing well Therearentan you shouldn't start complaining about others. I don't sell my seekers and arakyds cheap to "undercut" anyone - I do it because it's what I can afford to sell them at. I'm not going to raise my prices to and piss off my customers just so YOU can make a couple of sales and feel good about yourself.
I think player based economies are great, and very interesting concept in games- it would be so boring if prices were already set. This is part of the game, adjusting prices, doing what you can to sell your goods/wares.
I don't understand how you can say I'm making the profession useless - it's not useless to me! I sell my other droids for a lot more - I sell my R3s for 30k and they sell well. I can just afford to sell BH for a little bit less than others.
I didn't realize I bought the game, and pay a monthly fee to make YOU happy and figure out a way for YOU to sell YOUR droids - lol... man.... If you aren't a good enough salesperson to sell your other droids then maybe you should go find one to partner up with, or leave the profession and become a pistoleer... or a homeless person?!?!? Do they have that profession?
Mr. Moo
EXACTLY Tolim.
Here here....
Why is everyone complaining - some people just want everything to be easy I guess...
Mr. Moo
Having seen the wide variation of prices on this thread, i'd say we need to be more consistent with our pricing.
I sell 25 seekers for 10k (about 400 each).
I'm selling seekers for 600cr and Arakyds for 1500cr. They sell steadily at those prices.
With the ongoing resource shifts on Starsider I may have to up those prices though until things stabilize.
