Selfishly pursuing our own greed? And sorry to inform you Wepps but all smugglers weren't using a slicing exploit. They gave us an evasion skill for what Wepps? For looks? So we could say we had it? Oh that's right so we could group with rebels to poor to afford a mousue droid with storage.

And another common thing in the 'extended universe' would be to check the droid first if you were looking for contraband.

Let the smuggler's actually be the best at smuggling. Makes the most sense. Not sure why peopel feel so entitled to sliced gear and spices. Is anyone gated from leveling or travelling by not having sliced items or spices on them? Unsliced items still work, theres powerups, doc buffs, entertainer buffs, and chef food. None of which are illegal.

And how do you know it's not a bug? Let's look at it here. They give smuggler's evasion skills for what reason? They add in the 'imperial crackdown' now making things illegal. Yet this problem bypasses both of those in one shot. Do you think that was intended?

To the first question, I would guess that the situation applies tomost crafters who run their own harvesters. I, for one, cannot kill a squad of 10 Stormtroopers. I can kill 1 at a time, but quite possibly not if it surprises me.

As to your second question, that's exactly my point. WE DO NOT KNOW. So stop calling it a bug and an exploit. Besides, Droid storage does not make the new Smuggler evasion skills useless as has already been pointed out over and over. The people for whom this patch was intended - the high-end high-power gamers - are not going to use a PITA droid to avoid scans. If they're going to avoid scans at all, they'll do it by having a Smuggler in their group. (I would actually expect most to just kill the Stormtroopers and move on.)

Seriously... the fact that Imperial players can automatically avoid the scans is a far bigger deal than droids. Droids are a PITA to use for this purpose. I'm a Droid Engineer and I'm not bothering to use this ability because it's such a pain.Imperial officers can just ignore the Imperial Crackdown completely - that's where you should be focusing your attention, since anyone with that many faction points is likely your target audience - a high-power hard-core player.

Yes Kollos, it does but I guess we just have to agree to disagree because you all have this false sense of entitlement to illegal item you failed to address.

Umm, pretty much every true crafter. DE's especially. I have sliced armor, weapons, and spices, do lots of harvest runs, and on a good day I can kill 1/2 a stormtrooper solo before my deatblow. And I have more combat skills (pistol 0-0-2-1) that some DE's.

And how do you know it's not a bug?

The same way you dont know it is. However we have status quo on our side.

Let's look at it here. They give smuggler's evasion skills for what reason?

To toss them a bone? I seem to recall smuggler's abilities added after the server hit test as a "why dont you do this".

They add in the 'imperial crackdown' now making things illegal. Yet this problem bypasses both of those in one shot.

They have stated many times that they dont want to force people into PvP, and the scanning does that, so yes, I think they may have allowed it, especially since it requires more work for them to change droids to have them scanned. Having droids being able to avoid scans does not make the skill disappear from your character. Ireally cant believe you're asking to become a babysitting service.

Do you think that was intended?
Since you were an afterthought, i dont think they intended anything. Be thankful you got your bone.

It's not a false sense of entitlement, it was granted by the first 8 months of this game's existence. Everyone, not just Droid Engineers, feels entitled to use spice and sliced weapons because they have always been able to do so.

So let's get back to the issue you keep ignoring - why should average players be penalized for actions they took in the past, especially when those actions don't involve any sort of game balance breaking issue?

Furthermore, why do you insist on penalizing players who you don't want as customers in the first place? Your primary target audience - high-end hard-core gamers - are still going to use Smugglers because it is far easier than using a droid. The rest of us - the people you don't want to have to deal with all the time anyway - can use a clunky droid to continue playing mostly the same way we've always played, and it's no skin off your nose at all.

Weren't you the guy who recently thought it'd be a great idea to give the use ofall the combat droids to squad leaders rather than to the DEs who made them in the first place? lol Rally to you? I think not.

No kidding. People stored these items in the droids before. Now suddenly its an exploit.

In all fairness to the Smugglers, I'd have to say that the only diff between this and a traditional exploit is that, like Sodan said, the ability existed before the update occured which made it an exploit. So while it may be an exploit, it's in no way in the realm of responsibility of the players in the way that other exploits that people have to go out of their way to take advantage of, such as the general module socket cluster whatever being nestable.

This exploit was dropped in the lap of every player with a legitimate item-storing droid. It is not the faultnor is it the responsibility of the average player to compensate for another instance of *selfedit* coding by SOE. If their stomtroopers are too stupid to search a droid (stored in a datapad or otherwise)that is capable of storing items (whether it be a BLL, MSE or a probot) then oh well. Less death for them.

However, I'd say that anyone who hears about this and goes out to buy a "smuggling droid" for this purpose IS exploiting.

If this method of smuggling is to be legitimized, smugglers need to be given a component that allows for item storage modules to become hidden compartments. This would follow the maxim that most crafting professions have in terms of taking advantage of another proffession's specialty. Examples: Armorsmithcomponents needed for lvl 5 and 6 droid armor, Architect components needed for EG Power droids etc.

What about the fact thata smuggler can smuggler stuff without a droid? Isn't that an exploit? LOL jk

This is unknown... it's working as intended before and staying the same after. Adding new content doesn't make something an exploit.

Subtracting it doesn't make it an exploit either.
