I think that is an awsome idea. I also think that they should bring back the ability to store non mission waypoints with a command that allows the droid to let others open its datapad so that people can also take and save waypoints. I see so many people use droids for advertiseing, that others could just get the waypoint to the store from the droid cause most people dont know the /waypoint command.

I guess the other add-on to this idea is kind of a related thing to "/notepad".

I'm thinking we should get several notepad files (i.e. "/notepad1", "/notepad2" and so on). That would be INCREDIBLY useful, I think.

That's actually a great idea... lvl 1-6 data modules extend the notepad from 1-7.

Ackis,

The only thing about that idea that bugs me is that it relies on the player to have setup his/her cut, copy and paste key commands.

Using the droid Data storage to essentially provide the same benefit should be easier for most players to take advantage of (not in an 'exploity' kind of way) and also has a side-benefit of being usable to build cool player-driven content and events.

To be 100% brutally honest, both are still limited use... just not as limited as the current model.

Hence, my attempt to breath new life into a dead module (and they really ARE dead, for those that don't know).

I wouldn't call them dead. Crafters seem to enjoy them... I've now made 15 level 6 data modules in my career. LOL I sold 50 adv R3s with lvl 4 data in them, and my current uber droid has a lvl 6 data module in it.

Ackis,

Compare the number of data modules you've EVER sold with the number of Med modules, item storage or crafting modules.

This is a dead module, in my book.

LOL I know I'm just having some fun... you know how long I've been a MDE... and I've only made about 15 lvl 6 modules... that's just wrong.
