The problem is, probot's were never designed nor meant to be the fighting class droids. They are probe droids and suck. They are just behind on making the actually fighting droids and used it as a temporary fix for our profession I am sure. This brings this to our next point, when is the last time you saw a dev stating that CH is an inline profession as far as balance? Never. Every patch they are nerfing CHs, there has been multiple dev comments saying the current playset for creature handlers is not how they designed it and if people think the nerf bat aint going to come a swinging that way, well their just stupid. Oh and it would not suprise me to see CH's to be the last class to recieve an elite-elite profession. Also doesn't it make you feel good knowing that once vehicle creation comes that the DE elite-elite profession of vehicle creation will single handedly be the most desirable profession. Name me one person who won't want a vehicle, that is going to be huge for our profession. And I would expect us to have some sweet fighting droids by christmas for sure. Oh and creature mounts are not going to benefit CH's, they are actually designed to benefit their counterpart the Bio Engineer. So thats bout it, soon enough we will all revel in the whine force of the CHs, but believe me, the dev's won't give a shiite.

i still have my 3190 ham, armor 2 probot i built...even he isnt that great. i will say this... probots would be a LOT better if u could use stims on them.

as for being a DE, i've seen both sides, i was a master DE maybe 3 weeks max after the game was released. i am currently a CH, and the pets a CH gets are just far far superior.

then again, CH pets are for CH's like the one poster said. u really cant compare a droid to a CH pet, because droids do so much more. but i guess im still fustrated over the lack of combat droids.

Yes, Probots have to be crafted near a crafting station, as do all droids from Blueprints II onwards.All droids from blueprints III also require the advanced droid brain, so you will need a ton of Electronic GP modules... your best bet is to work up the Production line to get yourself the droid crafting module, then you can do it anywhere

I've never owned a probot, even though I've built several for customers, so I can't really comment on how tough they are to use. However, I will note that I have personaly destroyed several probots solo (without any pets) with just Novice Rifleman from within a 30m range with a Laser Rifle ... it only took a few shots. Probots may be good tanking creatures that don't have armour peircing.. but add a rifle with heavy armour piercing and they may as well not have armour at all. Moral of the story; Don't use your probots in PVP ... they will last about as quick as a chocolate bar in a fat factory.

I thought BP4 gave 'Droid Designer'?

I thought blueprints 4 gave you "droid designer". "droid refiner" comes from the experimentation one, i think. "droid builder" comes from the module tree. and "expert droid engineer" comes from the armor tree.

I think that is how those go. im kind of shaky on the expert droid engineer one because that was the last tree i leveled in before master droid engineer. But the other ones are correct unless they changed it.

I've just started to play this profession. Just have a quick n00by questions

1) I'm at blueprints 3 atm I'm guessing that I cannot craft Probots without using a public crafting station? So therefore forced to be a MA.

2) I've noticed a few droid engineers with the tag expert driod enginner how many skill trees do you have to complete before you can select that title.
