The QA team has the exact description on how to reproduce both of the Maintenance Module bugs that I am aware of. I worked with QA a few times on hammering out the information on both bugs, so its only a matter of time before the DEVs are able to put this bug fix into the line up.

I have to second this. They know how they work and break. It's just a matter of "bug priority" in perspective of some of the other stuff going on that are more important for the entire game as a whole.

Knowing how they work and break isn't the same thing as identifying the borked code and fixing it.

I know we tracked down the problem from a UI point of view and even why it happens, but we have no clue how that fits into the coding. If it was easy, it would probably have been fixed.

/shrug maybe it wasn't even looked at because they knew this change was coming.

I didn't say that they knew how it fits in the code or that it was easy. I just said that they know that it can get broken.

Just like they know that you can't name conversable droids, but that doesn't mean they have a fix planned for it yet.

That full structure control module would be nice.
Babying my harvisters costs me 2-4 hours a week and thet module could save me 2 of those hours. Heck, a module that just got a status report for each of my harvisters would save me half an hour of pointless running around.

I'll see if I can think of any short term ideas but I'm having trouble thinking of any that haven't been suggested before.

I have to agree. The latest patches have been focused on getting more quality "playing" time out of SWG. This has to be an issue with most crafters, although we have come to accept it as the price we pay for our professions' resource demands. I think this may take form in oneway or another. It may come in the form of emails or it could get incorporated into a new/refurbished module, who knows. I definatly think that the Survey droid abilities will need to get boosted.

The possibilities are impressive right now. I haven't been this excited about SWG since I bought it.

Along the idea of something that (should be I think) fairly simple but very beneficial, give the maintenance module the ability to view the contents of a structure on its list (items in a house at the very least, factory/harvester hoppers would be nice as well but may be more difficult to code). I think that would probably turn maintenance into one of our most popular modules to date. Granted, the bugs still need to be fixed on it, but that is a given.

Hmm that would be a very usefull use for that module. It could be listed and displayed like the vendor UI.

COuld be tricky to implement though, we can't even tell whats in a house like that when we are IN the house.

I believe the house keeps a master list of everything in it, otherwise the code to bring items to the maintenance terminal and destroy all items in a house would be a lot more complicated than it needs to be. My guess is no one thought of putting it in an interface.

Hmmm I honestly don't know. I always "thought" it just kept track of how many "items" there were then cycled Item #1 to the terminal, then #2, then #3 and so on. I don't know if it actually knows or cares what each item is.

You could be right though, I just don't know. Heh, how big of geeks are we to actually think about that stuff.

Its not geeky when your paid to do it.

Well it is, but as with any insanity, if you have money its acceptable.

Heh yea, I do that all for the Navy as well, but it's a game dangit, we shouldn't be thinking about how the house keeps tracks of items. Lol well not as were playing at least if there are no problems.

Just a thought to toss at you to maybe toss at the devs. Couple of other threads got me thinking about this.

As you know a lot of our droid modules have been nerfed lately, don't need to tell you that, the CU may nerf even more.

Right now one of our biggest sellers are Bomb droids. Hopefully this continues after the CU. We will see. The problem with our bomb droids is they take so much dang tolium. 80 a module is a ton, it's already hard enough for us to get the Tolium, but having to use 480 units per R3 is rough, and really cuts into profits over the tolium.

For example, I can sell a resource kit for 5 million, yet look at how much I could make if I used that resource kit myself (with our best seller the bomb droid.) With 30k of that Tolium, I could make about 60 Droids, after schematic losses. 60 x 85,000 (a going rate) = 5.1 million. So if I made the bomb droids using the Tolium, I could make 100k more then if I just sold the resource kit. That 100k also costs me all that Inert gas, good copper, plus whatever resoruces were used on the droid. Not to mention time.

So basically, it is just not cost effective to use a resource kit for Tolium. Buying the gas is an option, but the cpu for the good stuff is also very high, plus your competing with other professions.

I wonder if we could maybe the the amount of Tolium per module reduced a bit, if not to 40, then maybe 60?

Just an idea to toss out there.
