Thread: List of Proposed Droids for the Invasion
I'm not against your ideas, they are very interesting, and would be great but,
Implement this certification system would require to adapt every profession.
I'm pretty sure this is not doable in a reasonable amount of time.
Basicaly your system is very good but too complicated.
I'm the 'simple solutions are good ones' kind of guy.
Besides, I think the only balance problem, if there is one, is on combat.
That's usually what people and dev fear and yall about.
I don't think this is a real problem as faction pet are powerfull and much cheaper than droid, and usable in PvM and PvP, but that's my opinion.
Considering that alot of people will talk about balance issues if good combat droid for everyone exist, this system avoid the talk.
Only whine left is the '**edit** crafter with combat abilities' but if this game is going to be like all the others and being a crafter mean you're useless in combat, I won't stay long. Being able to do both is what made me come here. Again, that's only me.
On a side note, the advantage of a full module system is that it will be easier for dev to add new modules, if they do well their jobs.
I'm all for more droid type and all for more droid use, but I think first thing is to split module and chassis.
That will make it easier to create new chassis, and easier to create new modules.
And make some chassis/module and module/module combo unautorised shouldn't be very hard for devs to do.
I also think DE skill tree need to be reworked alot.
Maybe 4 boxes of utility droid chassis and 4 box of combat droid boxes or something like that would allow more diversity.
I think we have more or less the same ideas, but you focus on the result, and I focus on the easiest way to have it.
(yes, I'm a lazy dev, but not an SWG dev)

Impressed... Very well thought out, just wish the droid engineer was this thought out from the get go. I also hoped that droids would of been everywhere in the galaxy like you but alas we get the few we see.
I do hope at least one of theDEVs see this and send it off to concept designers. If they even go to do any of this it will most likelybe after the space expansion thats for sure.
But wonderful read I just have to pick up a copy of "Starwars: The Essential Guide to Droids"
what i really wished was that each droid has little nuances......if you read the essental guide, it tells about the quirks of some of the droid models.
props to the poster
Pikeman one sounds nice, maybe a increase weapons accuracy bonus lol
looks good
bah! TH also said the the DE community was "very clear" about the need for a DH profession.

Wasnt it said by TH that droids wont be able to give skill mods?
RHTC-560 Hunter (with drones): Bonus to droid speed; Bonus to droid tracking speed; Bonus to tracking droid effectiveness; Bonus to Bounty Hunter mission difficulty; Able to assist Bounty Hunter in limited melee combat.
And that's exactly what I was trying to do. None of these droids make anyone "uber" in combat. They reward & compliment professions at Master level.
Haven't seen any Devs in here yet...ideas on getting them to take a peek at this?
