Maybe it's just for testing, while they still work on implementing the new chassis?

I, for one, will refuse to build astromechs with combat modules out of principle. I still cringe when I see an R2 unit get hurt in the movies... Lucas ticked me off three minutes into Episode 2... they shouldn't be fighting!

bah, even more bad news, it appears DZ70's no longer have built in combat capabilities. Not sure if this is on purpose or a bug, but it looks right now like they need a combat module. Not sure if the same is true for probots.

By the way, if anyone's got anything specific they want me to test, list it here. Note, I'm still a bit lacking in skills but I'm working on that.

From what the D-man said a while back, I'm bettin' the probots are like that as well. The only question is how many combat modules you can get in a new probot.

Hehe...we aren't getting any new chasis guy. We've known that for quite some time. This is our big "droid invasion" - Probots are now going to be more difficult to make, yet have no additional abilities they don't already have, and they are strapping blasters to R-units.

WIth the information that has come out so far, it seems my worst fears have been confirmed.

And one I didn't even think of - a million sub-components for a frickin' repair kit. I had hoped artisans would be making them, as before.

It's not worth my time to spend so much effort constructing a disposable kit that will only sell for a couple of thousand credits at absoulte best.

And if R3's are combat capable, then with six module slots it should have the same combat capability as a Probot now - yay?

Ugh, if this is the droid invasion that I have been waiting months and months for, I think I'll just finish up my current factory work running off another 1000 Probots, stick them on vendors, and hang up my DE hat for good. I just wish I'd had the good sense to do so months ago, and saved myself a lot of time.

So much for large factory runs.

These new combat modules take a Droid Brain, which means no more than 160ish droids per run (in order to get enough identically made Droid Brains).

regular droid brains, not advanced, can still make 1000 in a run. Now for the bad news, possibly really bad news. I finally got to make a DZ70 with 2 combat modules, came out with 38-42 damage and 40% light armor (had 1 level 4 armor module)... now its been a while since I've made level 3 armor but wasn't it light armor before?

It doesn't matter if it's a regular droid brain - it still limits the amount of Droid Deeds with combat capability that can be produced. Since a fully equipped combat droid needs 6 of them (and don't anyone kid themselves - you know no-one is going to want a droid that isn't "the best"), that means the maximum amount of combat droids in a factory run is going to be in the 160s. I'm used to doing 500-1000 (or 997, lol).

The armor has been bugged since the last patch- I don't believe we have gotten any offical word on it,so we don't know if it's a bug, nerf, or feature...

Man, I am getting in the same state of mind as well. Droid brains for combat modules? 4 sub components to make a stim-A for droids ?

If they don't throw in new droid chassis and make the new "lvl 10" combat droids a lot more useful, this patch is just going into the garbage. The pain to make all this new droid 'love' just does not look to be worth the effort so far.

Where is Drashk ?? Isn't he a Master DE on TC ?? I want tohear what the top end turns out to be before I role over and play dead.

Yeah, the repair kits are what are killing me and are likely the straw that's breaking this DE's back. Not only are our Probots getting much harder to create, but in order for them to be useful you are going to have to spend scads of time making repair kits that you can likely sell for very little.

I mean, am I alone in hoping that Droid Repair kits should have been an Artisan item? Or at least the Stims?
