The R3 has a MAX HAM of 1700, which I have been able to attain. 100% again. It has a hit of 123-143 which is inconsistient with the nuber of blasters. It has a combat rating of 600, which IS consitient with the number of blasters (combat rating is directly realted to the damage it can deal). The speed is 1.5 , and the "to hit" is .38. Note: This is a pure combat droid. There is no room left for any utility modules.

I'm wondering if there's a display bug goin' on here. From my testing this evening it seems like the combat rating will yield the same damage range regardless of what chassis it's used in. If that's correct, then a 600-rating module should obviously outperform the 550-rating module. My educated guess is that the actual damage on that R3 is 160-170 or so.

If that's the case, the new DPS for the R3 is about 110, and the Probot's (assuming it's speed iscapped at 1 second) would be 160. That would explain why the R3's edging out the Probot; using the same math Kollos did, R3 kills the probot in 10 seconds and Probot kills the R3 in 10.6 seconds. Probot just barely loses. Throw in the randomness of the to-hit ratio and that would explain how the Probot got lucky that once...

UPDATE

Not going to post the whole thing again, just the LE Repair comparison:

HAM Wallop Armor Speed To-Hit
Probot ADV 1100 ~160 40% .75 .38
R3 1700 ~130 40% 1.5 .38
LE ADV 2200 ~80 20%1.5 .36
WinnerLE Probot Tie Probot Tie (close enough to not matter)

The LE Repair got whooped every time. It was 0-17 against the other droids. We fought it so many times because it was hilarious. We had a crowd of about 14 folks. I was able to whoop the nerfed pre-nerf, though.

The LE Advanced is NOT a viable combat droid.

I refuse to put combat modules in an R-unit. Astromechs are not combat droids and the fact that SOE made them so this patch is one of the lamest things I've seen since the non-CH level 10 pet nerf.

The difference between the droids might hinge on their CR. Perhaps the CR reflects something defensive, like Dodge, that we are not seeing on the surface? Just an idea.

I know the devs think this all is fun, but when a customer asks you to produce the 'best combat droid' what to do eh?

There are too many unknown factors behind this, including my latest test on a Rogue Falumpaset, where this time the R3 did hold its 40% resists (no I know about the display bug TK told us about) this is from the combat spam I read, though the previous night it did not.

Result, well of course it lasted longer - much. What is going on here?

I agree there might well be hidden things going on, like *dodge* but to be honest I would like it explained from a devs perspective. I am now so confused with this I dont know what to tell customers.
