FUN: Customization mostly working now.
UNFUN: Customization lifespan being based on calls, and too short in general. I'd like to see this have a lifespan in days, opposed to calls (like architect lamps).

FUN: A merchant barker module you can program to say anything and set to patrol around highly populated areas.
UNFUN: The fact that said droid can't shout, uses batteries, and auto-stores if you walk to the other side of town. They're less effective than spamming your message AFK.

FUN: Entertainer modules allow a droid to put on some interesting displays.
UNFUN: Not one of these is a little hologram of Leia asking for help...

FUN: Seeing an astromech whip out a buzz saw arm.
UNFUN: Never seeing an astromech whip out an interface arm, because droids (despite it being what they spent most of their time doing during the movies) can't interface with anything else mechanical.

FUN: Having a droid with an inherent function (Gonk).
UNFUN: Only having one droid with an inherent function. Personally, I think any LE should be able to repair, BLL's should be able to go to a harvester and retrieve the contents of the hopper, Surgicals with medical, etc...

UNFUN: Max droid limit of 5.

UNFUN: Unable to call more than one droid at a time.

UNFUN: Naming issues (no numerics, personality droids) still present since... well, forever.

UNFUN: DE's missing the boat on limited-use schematics, loot components, epic quest droid creation (Mando armor and jetpack don't count... they're not droids).

Fun: Finding good resources and experimenting to the limit to make the best droids around.

Unfun: Explaining to the customers all of the bugs associated with their new droid.

Fun: Making droids, having a wide variety of droids (though new chassis would be nice), having customers who downright love them

UnFun:
-Tiny return sales since nothing wears out.
-MM and GP modules (crates and crates and crates). The dependance on the artisan parts is a huge annoyance factor that would be slightly mitigated if the crates were at least 50 or even 100 items each. Even doc components come in crates of 50.
-Having to explain what all the ratings and numbers mean, and what droids can do.

Fun: Diversity in the products, which allows DE to find a niche market for themselves (but could always do with more diversity ).
I can make a full damage heavy hitting Probot, or I can make a minimal damage fully loaded self-healing tanking Probot, and everything in between.

Unfun: the R3 always being the best droid
I’d like to see specific chassis get bonuses to specific modules, like the MSE with detonation, to help them compete with the fully stacked R3s (surgical and stim dispenser, LE and auto-repair, etc)

I also have to agree with the incomprehensible stats. You know what you are getting with a gun or armour, but with droids people may be reluctant to buy if they are not quite sure what they are looking at.

Fun: Being able to make droids that each(or nearly so) profession can use.

Unfun: Not having enough specific chassis bonuses. Ex : Right now only the MSE droid gets a bonus to detonation modules. More chassis bonuses would be great so that the R3 doesn't win out most of the time.

Fun: The wide variety of module options now available. There are finally creative and competitive choices to me made when making a droid because there are finally more useful modules than there are slots in the Adv R3 Chassis.

Unfun: Mostly what Audio said. The haphazard and inconsistent nature with the way information is displayed in the deed is confusing to customersand to DE's.A big problem there is droid armor. Not only is it not displayed in the deed at all, it displays incorrectly in the examine window on most droids, which leads to many customers thinking they've been ripped off because the droid they just bought said "max armor" yet it's armor is only half what the other droid in their datapad always displayed. But the problems is far worse that just that bug. As Audio said: module ratings that go from 1-13 (in which 12 is equal to 13!) andwhich really represent a number from 1-10 (storage) is asinine and very confusing and misleading.

Fun: Everything....it is my personal belief that DE is approaching perfection, and that (with a few more much needed bug fixes) everything is peachy.

Unfun 1: No droid decay = that perfection is short lived. I would say well over 1/2 of droid owners use them for their utility, which means they don't get beat up and don't decay. We need droids to wear out (even if it takes a really long time), so that they eventually need to be replaced/repaired. Personally, I would like to see a repair/replacement setup like armor: Your droid lasts a couple of months, and after that time you have to have your droid repaired by a DE. When the DE repairs the droid, its maximum condition goes down and it lasts less long before its next repair. Eventually, the droid will have to be replaced, because its condition gets so low that it (1) breaks, or (2) will break and needs to be immediately replaced. (NOTE: by "break" I do not mean that the droid blows up and becomes uncallable, that would raise an outcry from all those droid owners with item/data storage modules that will lose everything on the droid. I think that break should = (1) droid drops to 1 HAM and gets insta-incapped by everything (not death, but it spends most of its time on the ground), (2) droid sparks like a broken speeder when called, and (3) all modules except item and data storage stop working.

Unfun 2: Our tree is a mess...we have WAY too many components that all do the same thing. We need 16 storage factories just to survive, especially considering the large amount of specialized resources that are needed to makeall those components. Our tree needs to be substantially consolidated and pared down. IMHO, ALL levels of modules, and differentiation between advanced and regular frames, need to die and module/frame quality needs to be 100% based on quality of resources and experimentation. Experimentation alone should be enough to seprate the good DEs from the inexperienced.

As a bonus, because I know TK will be reading this, I wanted to floatan idea:

I was screwing around last night and died on Endor (actually I went AFK to get the phone and a spider ate me). When I cloned I gave my usual dirty look at the screen and profanity toward the devs because my 300k suit of composite decayed, and I had a thought...

Why can't DEs cash in on death penalties like that?

In space, all spacecraft (supposedly) will have to have a droid navigator of some kind, astromech or otherwise. What if as a death penalty for space, the devs implemented a 5% loss of condition to your navigation droid when you die in space? That would be a great way to foster new sales of non-combat droids of varying models, without necessarily implementing decay on droids. What do you think?

FUN- Droids that work for my customers.

UNFUN- Droids that don't work for me, either because of skill requirements or bugs (I still maintain that having requirements is fine, but putting them anywhere other than at Novice XXXX level just kills sales some are novice, some are not, I want consistency).

UNFUN- Deed issues as listed above, and deeds that do not list the skills required to run installed modules.

UNFUN- HAM inconsistency between Utility droids and Combat droids, as well as hidden costs of certain modules (see my other thread)

Sorry TK I know you wanted simple and direct but this is kind of a big can of worms and each unfun thing needs a bit of elaboration.

FUN: The variety of modules and chassis; helping customers figure out what kind of droid they need, and the ability to customize and tailor a droid specifically for each customer.

UN-FUN: While not a technical requirement for DE, so many Master Artisan components are used that it is basically a "virtual requirement."

Fun: Finally have a wide selection of modules to mix and match depending on what people want in their droid.

UnFun: Limited 10 lot space to store all the different resources and factory crates that lets us make different types of droids. I lost a ton of stuff on shared lots when the person who bought the account deleted the old characters. Argh! CSRs said they could do nothing...

UnFun: Continuing bugs still not fixed. Like the 40%/20% droid armor display bug, structure maintenance modules that fail, conversational droid naming, etc

UnFun: Virtually zero return sales since droids never wear out unless used for combat. Some Guild members buy the new ones for the latest publish, but that stopped after a week or two. Only one big customer with many separate accounts ever re-ordered.

fun: Having a wide variety of configurations for the droids, so I don't have to make the same thing over and over (similar to weaponsmiths and composite armor).

Not fun: Having to carry around almost an entire inventory and entire backpack of parts and resources around in order to make even just the more common configurations on the spot.
