They are supposed to be developing, after all, not just reading the forums.
Actually, that's not true. We tend to use the term "Dev" loosely as anyone who works for SOE, but people like Q-3PO and Thunderheart have absolutely nothing to do with actual design/development, they are "community managers". Like Raph, they have never typed a line of SWG code (though I do believe that Q-3PO has updated text strings in the past). Their job is to communicate with us, mostly via these boards, and to relay information from the Development team to the community. So the "they don't talk because they are too busy working on the game" excuse never holds water.
Regardless, above I was just relaying something I have read a dozen times in as many threads - that many people percieved "old-hat" information as being new to the Devs when mentioned at FF. Take from it what you will (and it seems different people have taken different things from it) - I made no conclusions in my original posting.
Back to the original topic, I guess someone whacked the mole - I haven't heard a word about Droids from FF anyway, not even any details from JTL (it sounds like they just gave the E3 demo and that was it).

Audio,
I hope you weren't expecting some kind of massive revelation or a DE exclusive here.

"writing down notes about bug fixes" ???? All they have to do is read the forums and bug reports. It's not like it is new news.
I've heard that alot about the Dev forums.
Apparently Devs were scribbling down notes on things that have been submitted by correspondents and have been discussed on the board ad infinitum but they supposedly acted like they had never heard of such things before.

Not just bug fixes guys, they were also taking notes on playersideas, comments and such. They were taking ideas on the spot andthey were confirming whether those ideas were technologically feasible. They were listening to small details like how we felt about certain interfaces and other small issues. These guys are regular people, with cool jobs, not a bunch of con-men and liars. These aren't the marketing guys. They seem like straight shooters to me. I believe them and I think they will come through.Because they were willing to admit their screw-ups and they were honest about if and when certain things will be fixed, addressed, or even looked at.
They also told us about something that all of the programmers (Hard code linux in the background) and designers (using Java in the foreground) play SWG for 4 hours on Friday morning. They go to lunch together and talk about their experiences, and the annoyances/bugs they ran into. The next 4 hours of their work day they go back to their computers and hammer out the bugs/annoyances. That's why we have been seeing these little notes about small fixes and additions to the game. Things like the individual arrows when in a group. This is something they started doing a few weeks ago, and they plan to continue doing it.
Anywho, all that aside, I had a good time at the FF. It was fun and informative.

LOL, no, no one could have ever expected that based on your abruptly optimistic original posting. ![]()
