I think your crates will be ok. As TH said before crates 'insta-craft' items. And it seems that crates remeber what you experimented on, and with how many points. So it would remeber that you have maxed out the damage, so what ever number they make the max, when you pull from the crate you will get the 'new' max.

I sure hope this turns out to be the case. Ive used up alot of the best copper that has popped on Eclipse in recent history. I can say the same for the polymer and ore I used too.

and what about finished droids that are sitting on the vendors now? I would like to request that they go back through and adjust the stats on ALL droids crafted since publish 7 hit live. Go back, hunt them out in the database and scale their stats up to match whatever the new standard is going to be for publish 8. I know that might take some work, but I don't care. This game has an economy and I am trying to contribute to it but I cannot do so if the SOE gods insist on obsoleting all the wares on my vendors every other month!

It is unnacceptable if all of the hard work I put into crafting these new droids and keeping my vendors stocked is going to be flushed down the toilet again. I'm sick of redoing massive amounts of work everytime there's a new publish.

Hopefully, this will help us to raise our combat market from lower-end to mid-end. In the longer term, the high-end/end-game market is likely only something we'll get into with CL10+ droids. For now, we'll see some 'band-aid' adjustment till that's implemented (at least, that's the feeling I'm getting).

You know what's funny about this game (and why we are having alot of problems) is that this game doesn't really begin until you hit the mid-level to end-game. I remember reading all over the place near the start of this game about how a person is supposed to accelerate thru the professions to get the good stuff and then move on to the GCW, exploring dangerous planets, visiting dangerous POI's, and stuff. That the fun stuff to craft was also at the high end of crafting trees. So that begs the question about why are our droids concentrated on the low-end of the spectrum where people are passing thru fleetingly? Buy a droid, it costs you an arm and a leg, and you can find use for it only up until you hit 4th tier skill box in your basic professions. It all comes back to utility...cause that is the only niche where there is no competition for our product.

Sure. Just as soon as SOE actually does what they say they're going to, I'll chill out. Expect a long wait....

I expect that we'll see information on the day they push Publish 8 to TC. It will be copy of the Publish notes, possibly with a comment or two from TH.

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

When SOE does something positive with Droid Engineers, I'll quit being negative.

I told you all to keep your chins up...now you're starting to see why. Let'shope the changesin the works hold up better than the Falcon's hyperdrive.

Will all be perfect and finished in one Publish? No...but they are listening and moving us forward.

Better combat modules? HEHE... what about better droids as a whole? Battle Droids, Droidekas, etc...???

I guess modifying the current skins, making a mallet pop out of itself and thwop an enemy is the easiest route.

no. i am upset IF they yet again are going to implement a change with publish 8in a fashion that completely obsoletes million of credits worth of the new publish 7 merchandise. there are two issues there.

  1. should combat droids be enhanced? (answer is yes)

  2. should this be done in such a way as to completely obsolete every combat droid that was crafted between publish 7 and publish 8? (answer is: is sure as heck hope not!)

1 is more important than 2 in the long run, but 2 is a strong reflection of the teams competence where it comes to understanding and managing the effects of a publish upon the in-game economy. the fact is that if they are going to do 2, they should havewarned us when publish 7 hit live"don't stock up on these things because they are still in testing, and we might dramatically change the way they work in the very next publish once we get player feedback". They did not give us fair warning here. And if they don't suck it up and do the extra work that is required to compensate us for the lack fo fair warning the short term affect will be enormously negative and unfair. Some DE's will give up in frustration. Some players will give up and stop buying droids completely in frustration.

everything I say has lots of "if"s, of course, and is only relevant if those "if"s turn out to be the truth.

I'm going to have to agree with Kilarny on this one, eventhough his tone is a very heated, it is by and large an honest feeling
of anger and frustration that isn't being helped by the fact that every day on the DE forums something new flies out of left field
and hits us squarely in our already bruised faces. This latest 'news' is just the most recent example, with these last few weeks
being probably the worst in terms of morale. Last week's news about the shootdown of Hybrid coupled with the fact that we're not
getting any new droids until after Space comes at a time when our spirits are already weakened from the debacle that was Publish 7.
Those of us who haven't fled DE like the many dozens leaving almost everyday it seems, have already showed our commitment by
the sheer virtue of the fact that WE'RE STILL AROUND. At times like these we start to think about why we are sticking around, and
why we still extend hope to the future (the now DISTANT future), and we pretty much have to rely on eachother to keep that hope up.
The DEVs do not help us with respect to this. And I'm sorry TK but i'm going to have to side with Kilarny on this one; you are
on the inside so you see more than we do, you have an idea of what is happening so it's easier for you to have hope, and to keep this
hope up. We are in the dark. We know nothing. That is why we all clamor over eachother when there is even the slightest shread of
news from the DEVs or from you TK. WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. And TK, day by day you seem to be acting more of an apologist
for the DEVs than as the embodiment of our United Voice. You are our spokesperson, and while you too act at times as the spokesperson
for the DEVs you're main allegience is to us, to represent OUR voice.
To tell us that WE are the reason why the DEVs do not post on these boards is a veiled insult, and is uncalled for. It is TH's
job to post on these boards, whether he likes it or not. It is his job to understand our concerns as paying customers. And if the
real reason behind the RED NAME SILENCE is because they do not want to post in 'snakepit' forums than that is totally rediculous.
We are not angry and frustrated by nature. DE is not in the state it is today because of us. We have every right to express our true
feelings about our dearly held profession in whatever way (within guidelines) we see fit. It is their job to deal with that. And it is
your job to report back and forth between us and them, not to chastise us because we are reasonably upset. You understand the work that
the DEVs put in day after day probably better than any of us, and I understand that you respect their efforts and their willingness to
'listen' to us, but still TK, please for the love of God no more posts about them and why we should be more respectful. Please. I'm begging
you.
They have their reasons for not posting on these forums and there is nothing we can do about it. It is on them to reconcile that
with eachother. We deserve to be recognized, we deserve to be heard, we deserve to have some feedback from them. That is that.

We are all gluttons for punishment because we're DE's. But we do not need this from our own correspondent. That's what I have to say.

Yeah, although it will suck if the changes aren't retroactive, we definately need a boost in something... I think this is promising news.

I was playing with BE a bit this last weekend... After some playing around, I was eventually (without much effort) able to make CL10 creatures with poison/disease specials and 6k-8k HAM.

Now granted, devs will probably be nerfing these sooner or later. However, fact remains that our combat droids (with a max of a little over 2k HAM) don't aren't great considering that BEs can easily make 3k HAM pets with good resists and cool specials.

It was stated before patch 7 from either SOE or our correspondent that the droids would be introduced, they would get a feel for their power, and be adjusted either up or down. No, it wasnt in patch notes, but its in the forum somewhere.

It makes more sense for them to leave existing products alone. Otherwise it gets to be a nightmare changing things. This has been their stance on the majority of changes they've done... which is why it was all the more perplexing why they found the pre-nerf probot so dangerous that the armor had to revert. (though there ill bet it was unintended consequences for changing the underlying armor code...but i digress.)

The only thing we're promised in a MMORPG is that things will change. Given the choice of getting improvements with makign current products obsolete or getting nothing, ill take the improvements.

At least you still have workable droids that can be sold for several weeks (since its looking like at least anohter month for patch 8). Im still trying to figure out what to do with the crates of general clusters for my R3s that will no longer take them.

We've often asked why the dev's wont come in here. He's giving us an answer. Its not his fault its an answer we dont like. We can hardly go around asking for information if we're going to ignore it because its not information we like. This thread is a perfect example of how the devs must feel there is no way to please us.
