Thread: First views of New Modules descriptions
About the entertainer module:
Is this thingonly supposed to augment a musician's performance and thus be useless to anyone other than a musician? Or am I going to be able to get a musician torecord something on it that I can have played in a camp somewhere by myself to heal wounds and BF?

Playback Module
This allows a musician to record a particular instruments default playback music. It requires a component that is craftable by a Musician (i have heard novice, but i recieved mine through a master).
The musician sets up the droid to start listening while the musician grabs an instrument to play. after playing for a short while - it will have recorded the new data (flourishes do not get recorded). Then the musician is free to grab a second instrument and play along with the droid's playback for a better single person experience - or smaller groups having a wider range of instruments playing at once.
These modules can be stacked to allow for more then 1 instrument recording at a time (1 per module however).

Well, first, you can't heal BF in a camp, even with a real musician/dancer.
And I think, but not sure, you must be a musician to see the playback radial menu.
I think it's supposed to be useless to anyone other than a musician.

Regarding the recording module for Musicians, can the droid overlap differnet instruments (can it record an omni box, slitherhorn, and fizz and play all at the same time while you play a bandfill for example)? If it can only play one instrument recording at a time, can you call more than 1 droid (have 3 droids playing different instruments with you)?
I'm not on TC, but according to the patch notes it will only record one instrument per module. You can have multiple modules with different instruments recorded on each, but you can only play one at a time. I'm anxious to see how it's implemented.
And you can still only have 1 droid out. However, if you had a band of 2 people and they each had a droid out, you'd effectively have 4 band members. ![]()

Within a group - each member that is at least a novice musician can record an instrument playing a song on their droid. Currently (and i think it will stay this way) you can only call one droid at a time, so you cannot with one person have a 4 instrument musical jam session.
But with two people - you can.
If the droid has more then one playback module at once - you can record multiple instruments but you can only playback one at a time.

I really think that it would be great if dancers could use droids with playback modules. Sure, they wouldn't be able to record anything unless they also had skill in musician, but it would be nice to watch a dancer dance to music even when there isn't an actual musician there to play.

At the same time - your listening to a 3-4 second piece of music loop over and over and over and............ over and over... again. I dont think a lot of people would find that appealing.
From what I understand though, they respond to /bandflourshes. So they only play the same thing over and over if you let them.
