Thread: Macros??

I couldn't disagree more. I am not a 'n00b'. I've been playing mmorpg's as long as they've existed.

Macros are built into the game.Using a command line within the game that SOE dev has said is ok, is not an 'exploit' or 'cheating'.

Here is my proof :

Ctrl+A

~~~~~~~~~
Using macros to /deathblow , or /wave is no different than the macros to click next and create a prototype. I won't post them here, but they can easily be found bya Google search.
I would further state that SOE has created this maddness in that Holocron hunting and profession changing is now something that everyone wants to do - and do *fast*.
Thanks!
I had been on the road to Master DE for some time , and once the holocron craze set in, I wanted to have no part of it either.
Even if my guild brothers give me a holocron and it tells me to drop DE, I won't.
I repeat
freaking noobs and their macro the skill boxes..
earn it.. ctrl-a is a short cut..
using a OUTSIDE game program ( even in the log in states its illegal ) to further yourself along some skill, isnt even pittiable, its pethetic.. sure sure you have the right to play your game the way you see fit.. but the level of intelligence used to come to the REAL DE's channel, asking us for a macro, especially in all recent events.. rofl.. go figure.. and then we have some other wanna be comming to this guys defence, trying to relate apples to grapes.. a macroing program is not a short cut ...
Here's a handy macro:
/move back 5;/pickup
Wait until you have 120 crates of parts in your house and you'll see why.
sigh rofl
freaking noobs and their macro the skill boxes..
using a single key stroke.. for a "macro" to do a chain of events... while at the keyboard is a shortcut
what some daft people seem to be missing in this point, is..
using a "macro" while afk and or asleep, is not in the game functions.. it can be done with music, or dancing, but not where it moves the mouse for you ( i.e. a macro program )
anyone who tries to defend this, without first haveing a clue is a jackass..
Earn it..
are you complaining about people using macro programs (3rd party programs) , or using macro's in game and people not calling them 'shortcuts'?
I think the original poster just wanted a crafting macro to reduce the number of clicks they have to use for crafting (while i don't use them , you can probably find some on swgcraft.com)
Is that outside of the game rules? Absolutley not. They gave us the ability to use macro's ingame , and using such a macro to save some time (you'll still need to click and select the resources to load into the schematic) is perfectly fine.
I have macro's to equip all my armor , and un-equip my armor and put clothes on instantly.
I have macro's for combat , macro's for pre-combat , macro's for post-combat (looting , etc).
macro's for AFK surveying , Macro's for harvester maintence , Macro's for house management....all perfectly fine and the ability to do all that was put there by the Devs....
I agree I think there is a HUGE difference between an in-game macro (shortcut) and a third-party program (Cheating).
Personally I use a macro/shortcut to load schematics and a macro to finish them, they still require me to load the resources; so this isn't an afk macro, but it does decrease the craft time of items.
This technique doesn't use anything that requires an exploit. It is simply a string of commands the dev's put in the game for us to use. I know some don't like this and that is fine you don't have to use it.
That was my "macro" for churning out Advanced Droid Frame Units from 0-0-0-2 to Master Droid Engineer. Seriously, the in-game macro system really doesn't speed up crafting much if at all. Just put 4 Crafting Tools on your hotbar and rearrange your inventory so that only your grinding steel and fiberplast show up in the resource window. 2500 XPs per minute is pretty easy to do without any macros at all.
I put my fiberplast and steel in the crafting station hopper to keep it separate from my pack junk.
You just need to be careful not to run your macro on the wrong thing. For example, if you you run a "/harvest bone" macro on a type of creature corpse that doesn't have bone, you won't be able to correct your mistake and harvest anything else on that corpse.
*** harvest macro ***
__macro__
/loot all;
/unit
__alises__
/alias hh /alias unit /harvest hide
/alias hm /alias unit /harvest meat
/alias hb /alias unit /harvest bone
been using this one for about 6 months now
i put my macro on my upper f10 slot on all my combat panes
then i type /hm to change what that macro will harvest to meat
or /hh to start it to harvest hides
the reason i do this is cause when i am going out to harvest i USUALLY do not switch all over on resources and can set it for the time being as to what i want to start to harvest
