Any other ON TOPIC suggestions, besides "screw your poll, DH is inevitable", "It's all hopeless", and "lets talk combat certs."? I was very explicit in requesting comments on this proposed poll and I have received very few. Its time for action folks. Seriously, speak up on point, or hit "next thread" at the bottom right corner of your screen.

Answer a few questions... what are you trying to accomplish with this poll? It sounds to me like the ONLY thing you're trying to address is new combat droids. Are you sure that is wise? What if Thunderheart mis-reads the poll and sees "Aha... Droid Engineers just want new combat droids. We don't need to fix any bugs or provide any new utility droids."
Make sure that the preamble to the poll is very explicit in stating that it only addresses one single issue, and that there are other issues that are just as important to the Droid Engineer community.
I'm sure I'll come up with more given some time... I'm still groggy.
How about some suggestiosn for the pre-amble? Lts just put this poll together people. Man! It's like wading through mollases in this board. Can't we have a focused, on topic discussion.
What more evidence as to the efficacy of polls do you need that THs response to the 285 to 13 ratio of the previous poll?
My poll is not to the exclusion of other fixes etc, though I agree that should be stated in the pre-amble and appreciate the suggestion. Besides, we already KNOW bug fixes are the only things were gettign before july.

We now have another problem... Thunderhearthas stated flatly that certs will not work. I fully believe he is wrong and that he only believes that because he's making yet more false assumptions, but we now have to work around that belief as well. Creating a poll that screams "give us certs!" at this point would be worse than useless simply because he'll think that he's told us it isn't an option already.
We need more information from Thunderheart. What is the maximum allowable combat capability of a droid assuming that said maximum will be restricted in use by certifications? Saying "CL 10" is insufficient, to me, because creature combat levels are horribly inaccurate. I want to know how much HAM we can give a droid, how much armor we can put on a droid, and how much damage a droid is allowed to at a given HAM/armor rating.
Once we know that we can design a line of droids that could then be placed in a cert system. Once we have the droids we can design the cert system.

You really have a poor attitude. If something's not going your way, you lump everyone who disagrees with you into some mysterious group that doesn't exist, then rant about how bad that mysterious group is.
We have to work within the confines of what Thunderheart and the Dev team will allow. I understand where he's coming from and believe that we can work around the obstacle that he thinks is in place. But hey, if you can't think outside your own little box, feel free to give up.

There's nothing little about my box: Look inside and see happy DEs being defended by theirdroidekas. I'm just pissed off today and I have zero tolerance for the crap I've seen on these boards the mast few months. I'll calm down by the afternoon when there will be still no fix to the DE profession and still no one will be able to get anything by the naysayers on this board.

Just one note on this... Show me any other crafting class that is practically required to be a master artisan as well as their class. We practically have to spend those 48 extra skill points for MA to be able to build droids. There is no way around our utter reliance on MA parts, so we are forced into Master Artisanry.
Now, I'm not trying to justify DE being solely able to control the so-called "uber" droids, but I do think it should allow us to control a slightly more powerful droid, level 15-20 or so... since we are "penalized" those 48 skill points and do not have use of them towards a combat profession.
I think without making an entirely new profession, a DH "pseudo-class" could be drummed up that would allow you to simply spend skill points on droid handling points, at a pre-determined ratio. There is simply not enough content for a completely new class, as all droids are built to follow orders, so they wouldn't need people teaching them tricks, etc.
