3. You can make droids, the cutest characters in the star wars movies
4. You can make droids, the most frightened characters in the star wars movies

Some people are intelligent.
Some people are wise.
As long as the wise control the intelligent, the world should do just fine.

My 5 reasons.

1. this is star wars.. i wanted to make droids... so i get to make droids

2. It is very possible to make money

3. Fighting the same stupid creatures over and over at 30K gets old fast.

4. You can meet people fromall other professions all over the galaxy

5.I'mcreating, not destroying.

: looks around for any other flurry DE's...

I've yet to see one here..... thank goodnesss, i'd hate for someone else on flurry to do what i'm doing, but i'll tell the rest of you!

I dont' have the merchant profession, and nor do i want it. So this of course means i'm going to make minimal sales off my vendor... no worries, vendors are plain and boring So what I decided to do would be a walking droiid factory... i just travel around the galaxy, and find groups of people and hawk my wares.... I do VERY well. if i'm at a busy starport, i usually get 2-4 tells of ppl looking for droids, if it's a slower one, i may only get 1 or 2. but more often than not, i'll get at least 1 order. I then fill this order, and the customer can still jump onto the shuttle.People love it. Oh yeah.. i also throw in a crate of 5 batteries, and 1 8 use droid custo kit to ensure they remember me next time they are looking for a droid.

While doing this I've come to the realization that people don't know enough about droids and because of that they never really go 'shopping' for one. So here I come along, can make them a droid in under 10 minutes, exactly how they want it, in exactly the right color.. and explain how to use it... well.. they don't seem to mind paying high prices. I sold a BLL lvl 6 storage droid for 100K and I got the feeling the person woulda paid more! maybe 150K or so. I've certainly found a great niche, for a non-merchant DE, and i love meeting all the different people

So here's one sucess story for you... depending on how hard i apply myself, i can easily make 500K - 1 millioin in a night, and most of the time is spent chatting with other people.

I also know a number of other DE's on flurry, and they do quite well. There's a DE wholesaler, who like to just run factory runs of components, and he's doing really well. Another is a single wookie DE, and he makes a good living. It's out there, people DO want droids, i just don't think they want to have to go looking for them. Most DE shops that are advertised end up being empty, or doing have the right droid in stock.... that'll never happen with the roving zorkk store

THe only other thing i want is SOE to make a droid that i can unforld into a temporary merchant tent!

I cant give you one.
I wanted to Master it, I thought it would be fun and rewardning....
the grinding adv droid frames sucked.
Mastered it..
not being able to sell stuff for a real profit.. sucks..
been it for a few months now, no one orders droids, and when they do they then scoff at the price..
I keep regular check of my compitition and Im cheaper.. spoke to a few on my server, all are struggling..
Droids are not cheap to make...
Look, if you like mindless grinding.. be a DE.. if you want to play for profit.. forget it.
Besides Combat is much more fun.
But to each there own.

No offense is intended (although I'm sure you'll take it anyway), but just about everything you said suggests that you just aren't a very good droid engineer. You have no business claiming that DE is a boring, profitless profession. Dozens of us have made multimillions since patch 8. You've apparently made squat. What you should be thinking is, "What am *I* doing wrong?" and not claiming that DE is a waste of time for no reward. The problem is YOU, not the profession.

One single thing that made me happy last week and explains why I do what I do:

Last week I ran out of a resource and needed some more. Before putting upharvs I thought i'd check the bazaar. Lo and behold exactly what I needed was there and for a good price. I bought all of it. 5 minutes later I get a message from the chap I bought it from...

"Hey thanks! Btw if you need any more resources I have loads and can sell them to you cheaper than that. I have some of your droids and they're really great! Let me know if you need anything else."

Looking back through my records, this guy had indeed bought several droids - about 11 at the last count and totallinga significant amount of cash. It seems my droids grew in ability as he grew into his own profession, so every time he came back for a new one.

His thanks and enthusiasm is what made it all worthwhile to me.

1. You will answer more questions than you ever thought possible because few people know anything about droids.

2. Your place will look spiffy with droid chassis hanging out everywhere - performing various tasks around your house.

3. You'll find out your personal limit to how many clicks it takes on a UI screen before you completely lose it.

4. After the 100,000th Electronic Memory Module and Electronics GP module you deal with, you suddenly will start understanding Astromech droids' language.

5. Building droids for people is fun (crafting aside, if that makes any sense) and it's a very Star Wars-y thing in a game that at times lacks anything Star Wars-y about it!

1. Diversity - my customers are always finding new and interesting module combinations for me to build for them.
2. Interaction - it's a lot of fun to talk to someone, find out what they do andwhat their professions are, and help them pick out the modules that would suit them best.

3.Feedback - many other crafting professions don't get the feedback that we do. A first-time droid buyer is almost guaranteed to write back to you and tell you how pleased they are with their droids - particularly if you custom-built it for them and put in all the bells and whistles.

4."LiveThe Saga"- Without us, Star Wars just wouldn't be Star Wars.

5. Rarity - A relatively small market enables you to build a decent customer base.

Checking your spelling (and punctuation, too) will ensure that you're making sense to more than two people.

Here are my 5 reasons I enjoy being a Master DE (my alt)...

1) Creating a module or droid, checking the rating, then making a goal to BEAT that rating...

2) The ability to create so many different make-ups of droids with different modules and color combinations...

3) Seeing and hearing back from players using my droids...

4) The potential for so many different future module and droid types (so many great suggestions coming up frequently here and elsewhere)...

5) The fact that I know first-hand how hard TheRealTK421 works for DE's in the foreground and in the background that I'm 100% confident that good things are coming down the road!!!!You could ask for better representation...He makes sure DE's are never forgotten or overlooked...

It's really an in-game hobby, not a profession and never will be anything more. After all, they will never implement real combat droids in any form and never will implement droid condition decay to drive the need for any return business. When they do work on droid stuff, they throw stuff at us that creates a temporary two week market demand and then things return to the way they always have been. Something to do if you enjoy tinkering and aren't worried about getting in-game rich. If credits is what your after, do weaponsmith or armorsmith but be ready for stiff competition were the stats of your resources make or break you.

Here are my reasons for sticking with it:

1. Jump to Lightspeed

2. Jump to Lightspeed

3. Jump to Lightspeed

4. Jump to Lightspeed

5. Bomb MSE Droids

If our profession is half as important as it should be in making good space-rated droids, it will be a blast. If SOE screws us with more gimp bullcrap, I'm moving on toWeaponsmith.

If SOE screws Droid Engineers in JTL, I don't think I'll be around much long

I hope and pray that droids are an important part of space combat, they deserve to be.

You only need one reason.

Droids will be absolutely necessary in JTL
