Thread: I *may* not last too much longer...
I am, however, pretty damn sick of the interface lag in dragging inventory items into the factory. It takes me a good 15 minutes to set up a run of Adv. Droid Brains.
The only CTD's I've had were with changing a sign name. Have an ATI
I grabbed this and will run it tonight while I snooze.

Might be worth a shot just to double check it before you try anything major like a re-install.

I know have ATI X800Pro, FX-55, 1gb ram. No lag, no CTD's.
I'm: 9800 Pro (latest drivers), XP1800+, 1.5GB RAM, SWG on D:
Do you have anything running in the backround while playing SWG?
Applications? No. Maybe IE and that's about it.
After reading about on the forums, I'm pretty confident that this is (in part) an SOE / SWG issue, not an issue with my PC. Too many people are exhibiting this exact behavior (or something close) for it to just be my box.

Well...I'm beginning to suspect some RAM issues or something buggy in the latest ATI drivers in relation to my mobos BIOS (or with my setup in general).
When not in SWG, I now get an intermittentcrash that appears hardware/driver/RAM related. Unfortunately, it's sufficiently generic as to not point to a specific problem or hardware device.
Source: System Error
Event Viewer: Category (102), Event ID 1003
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 004dc6f2, parameter3 aedc0c04, parameter4 00000000.
NOTE:
Error code 1000008e = "KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M"
This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
Most of newsgroup comments about this error point to faulty hardware or drivers. The hardware varies from modems, video cards, USB device to memory or sound cards. Sometimes it proves to be hardware that it is not compatible with Windows XP.
My next step (/sigh): Run MemTest86 and see what it reports....or....perform a "Repair" install of WinXP.

Actually...now that I think about it...

I don't know TK, if you are having problems outside the game, that is one thing. As far as crashing in the game goes, I think that is a SWG problem. It happens to a lot of people, I mean a lot. Something recent messed something up. The problem is it is so random, it is hard to track down.
The error above was generated while I had the Launchpad open and was hanging out in the chatroom. So, I suppose it might still be SWG-related.
When I don't run anything SWG-related................I never crash (unless I'm testing software in development for my job).
