Unfortunately, as much as I tried to find them useful, they never really were to most people.
It's not because of their lack of power delivery, which is often cited as the big problem with the module; it was never intended to replace going to harvesters, it was meant as a way to keep an eye on structures in general. I'm terribly glad they DIDN'T take power - do we really want to make the game easier for those "I lot trade 100 static lots" people?
The real problem was the cumbersome nature of the interface and the hours you had to wait for it to work. Anything more than a couple of minutes, especially in the age of JTL, is silly.
I found the most use of it being able to see all my structures and their current maint levels, not for actually delivering the credits. I sincerely hope that we get some universal way to track our property without droids, however, at which time the module could actually be declared "dead".

This is my first ever post to your forums, so please excuse my obviously woeful ignorance of your profession and your wares...
But I just read that a droid equipped with a maintenance module allows the droid's owner to check the status of any structure "loaded" into the droid. Is that correct?
If so that is very beneficial to me. I have multiple accounts and multiple lot rentals to support those accounts. If I can have a droid through which I can check maintenance on the myriad structures and harvesters I have running at any given time, the value is inestimable in saved time.
Assuming that I have understood the mechanics of this properly, how many structures can be "loaded" into a single droid? How many droids can someone have in their datapad?

The highest level maintenance module (Lvl. 3) can administer 9 structures. Five droids is the limit in your datapad.

Welcome to the DE forums, sounds like an SMM droid will help you, but the info you need is up above in the sticky posts, just so we don't derail this discussion.
Back on topic, personally I think if this taking credits from the bank code is going to be implemented, the best way to implement it would be to link it directly to a Structure maintenance droid. That would turn them into a "killer app" for us.

9 structures is almost perfect...but not the absolute highest possible.

you know I was wondering about that. I think they should require that the players have a Maint droid to have it keep the hosue up.

I have mixed thoughts about this.On one hand,I've never really thought it made sense in the future high tech world of Star Wars to have to actually go on location to a harvester to pay maintenance. With all this other technology, haven't they figured out automatic payments yet? Now power I can see more easily, but money? And I've never enjoyed paying maintenance. I'd prefer not to worry about it and focus on other things.
On the other hand, I do forget about buildings from time to time, and I do find the "structure damaged" email a nice reminder from time to time.
I've only sold one maintenance droid by special order. Guess I figured they were just too difficult to use, at least for harvesters that are always changing. Anyway, I've never stocked them. But I did like the post describing how a city manager might use it. I can see how they might be(soon to be have been?) veryhandy in the right circumstances. It is a bummer to lose some variety to the DE profession. I like the variety of different things we can do and hate to see one go away. I agree with those who say to switch it from money to power if and when this gets implemented. That would be nice. Still not good for Architects.

This will hit architects more than droid engineers i would think

I dont really see this as a problem, as long as you can still manually add maintenance.
I know dozens of players (me included), that borrow lots from other players. If they do not pay maint. on all their borrowed lots the other player will get billed. So they would apriciate a droid to do a run to make sure they didn't miss any.
If they fix the bugs then this could actually be benificial.
On the other hand, if you cannot add maintenance any more, then this is bad news for a lot of players. It would mean that lenders would get billed and the borrowers would have to keep /banktip'ing them. It would also mean that the maint. module would be obsolete.
Anyone know if you can still add maint. manually or not?
