Thread: Droid Models, the Ones that Sell?
C5P3 wrote:So far, as a still budding DE, I've been having some pretty good luck with people actually needing battle droids. Personally I've been using Advanced DZ70s as my personal combat droid, and on two different occasions within a couple days of one another, I sold two of them off without even a second thought. Being a DE 2/3/2/3, I've been making the DZ70s with 2400 HAM and 105 Damage, using Lvl 3 Armor, and both times I was easily able to sell off both droids for 25k each.I've even had the second customer come back to me for a med droid he wanted later that day, an Advanced R4 with Stimpack dispenser, item mod, and combat mod with 2 lvl 3 armor mods. I couldn't believe the stats I saw on that droid when I finished with it... 4600 HAM, 80 range damage... not to mention the fact that it could heal you in combat (definately a tank droid). My thoughts are it all depends on how many people are actually aware of what we can make as Droid Engineers and how it can help them out in the world.Message Edited by C5P3 on 01-25-2005 11:18 AM
you sure it wasn't 2600 HAM? last I checked the R-series was capped at 3200. LE's can get up to 6k if you had made one of those.

Yes my prices are low, but I have no reason to raise them. My out of pocket costs are more then covered and I have more credits then I know what to do with. I harvest all my own resources and sell the extra. Most of my sales are done on the bazaar, even with a very well stocked vendor. (No you cannot have my credits, the extra goes to city I live in.)
Thumbs up for a great crafter!

Ice, I'm just curious abotu something, I'm trying to figure out different outlooks on prices.
Do you just craft, or do you fight as well? I'm just curious if you are only covering your Droid expenses or your playing expenses as a whole.
See that is the thing for me.
My DE supports my Combatent, Entertainer and Doctor. I have spent about 30 million Droid money on my Entertainer suit. My Combatent is by far my biggest money sink. Food, Armor, and Weapons. I just spent 4.5 million yesterday (seriously) on new PVP armor. I like being able to bid on and buy better weapons. Even though I can bid in the millions, I still quite often get outbid. Just yesterday, I chipped in 5 million for our Jedis and some crystals. They need them for PVP.
My point is that for me, "expenses" means far more then just Droid expenses. My DE supports the rest of the game for me as well, plus my guild. There is no way that I could do this if I charged less, heck it's hard enough as it is.
I think that this is why we see such a big difference in pricing between people. Some people see "expenses" as 200k a week to run harvs and factories. Others like me think of it in terms like being able to bid 20 Million on an Uber Stun Baton.
Again, I am not debating your prices, I am seriously just curiouswhat you consider expenses. Saying you have more money then you know what to do with is one thing if you are simplypaying maint. It is totally something else if you spend money on items and auctions.

That is definately one of the reasons DE's tend to have different views on prices. You have your combat character and entertainer to pay for, whereas someone like me really only has their factories and houses to pay for (as well as the random wedding, house warming, cantina, or other occasion gift), which is significantly less than food, buffs, armor, weapons, etc. Even my entertaining side of me is "free" since I don't actively buff (and therefor don't need an expensive buff suit).
