So far, as a still budding DE, I've been having some pretty good luck with people actually needing battle droids. Personally I've been using Advanced DZ70s as my personal combat droid, and on two different occasions within a couple days of one another, I sold two of them off without even a second thought. Being a DE 2/3/2/3, I've been making the DZ70s with 2400 HAM and 105 Damage, using Lvl 3 Armor, and both times I was easily able to sell off both droids for 25k each.
I've even had the second customer come back to me for a med droid he wanted later that day, an Advanced R4 with Stimpack dispenser, item mod, and combat mod with 2 lvl 3 armor mods. I couldn't believe the stats I saw on that droid when I finished with it... 4600 HAM, 80 range damage... not to mention the fact that it could heal you in combat (definately a tank droid).
My thoughts are it all depends on how many people are actually aware of what we can make as Droid Engineers and how it can help them out in the world.

you sure it wasn't 2600 HAM? last I checked the R-series was capped at 3200. LE's can get up to 6k if you had made one of those.

I do a lot of custom orders as well, probably like 10 a week, I just stock those because they fit about 80% of what people need (my guestimate.) My price is 10-20k for the chasis (some like the bLL or EG7 are more.) Then 10k per module, armor is usually free, add or subtract a little depending on the person and resources used.

I used to stock more specific models for example, like aclothing/armor crafting model, with storage and such. However, I realised something. First many crafters have more then one crafting profession, all at least have Artisan, so then you need to worry about 2 modules or more. Way to many combinations.

I also realised that "most" crafters have zero problem spending 75k for a Droid with all 5 crafting stations and storage. They are smart, they know it is an investment that wont decay. They know that if they ever choose to change crafting professions, they wont need another droid.

Here is an example of what I mean. When JTL launched, I started selling "Crafters Dream" R3's with all 5 crafting stations and storage for 75k. At the same time I made 20 "Ship Crafting Droids," they also had storage, for 25k. I made the cheap ones because I didn't want new ship crafters with low income to be locked out of the ship game. See I am not a mean capitalist, well not totally.

Guess what.

Since JTL, I have sold about 100 Crafters Dreams, seriously, if not more. Now many of those may not have been ship crafters, but just people wanting crafters Droids. However, I know the names of many Shipwrights, and people who had bought my crafting droids before JTL. A very large portion of people bought my Crafters Dream, just for the Ship Crafting module.

Out of my 20 "Ship Crafting MSE's" I still have about 10 left. Meaning I sold 10. Ironically 5 of those sales were because I ran out of 20k Storage MSE's. One person bought 5 of my Ship / Storage MSE's (for 25k each,) just for the storage. So I really sold about 5 of the Ship crafting Droids, even though they were 50k cheaper.

In my own mind at least, this drives home the fact that "most" people have zero problem paying 75k for a full crafting Droid, even when they have the option to buy a cheaper one. So because of this I don't stock them. You can get them by special order, but that almost never happens, for Crafting Modules at least.

For me on Intrepid the best sellers are the one that i make a big deal out of. my protocol droids with srorage and a barker module for 45k sell really well. but not so well that i can raise the price. I sold 10 probots with 3000+ HAM/ 350 CR/ and an auto repair module. for 60k each just last week. and for some odd reason my basic power droids with no mods sell well for 22k the ones with barkermod dont sell as well at 35k but im satisfied enough with thesales to not change its price.

I sell a fair amount of trackers for BHs at 2k each (10 use) and even a few mse storage and bomb droids 10k each.

but i think my best sellers are the disposible r5 units for the required pilot's astromech lvl 1 to lvl 5 i have sold tons of them since i set a vendor at our local ship chasie dealer. so many in fact that i needed to start some factory batches of all 5 types. i love JTL

yea, as more and more people start using afk doc-bots power droids are becomming more popular. To get the best buff they need a droid, but the only way to recharge it is if you provide most of your steady customers with power droids...

Straker, love the droid names

I sometimes make custom droids based on a doctor's wants.

Anyone have prices similar to my own?

Mine are similar, maybe a couple k higher on some of the droids, but not too much. Pricing entirely depends on both your server and your focus as a DE, so you can't really compare them to other people's.

Top sellers
- DZ70 Adv, combat load out (rated 200+): 650cr or free to new player that I meet
- A4 Adv, 1 crafting & storage (10 item): 1770cr or free to new player that I meet
- R2 Adv, medic load out: 5120cr
- Probebot Adv, combat load out (rated 500+): 5000cr
- MSE Adv, bomb droid: 1300cr

Yes my prices are low, but I have no reason to raise them. My out of pocket costs are more then covered and I have more credits then I know what to do with. I harvest all my own resources and sell the extra. Most of my sales are done on the bazaar, even with a very well stocked vendor. (No you cannot have my credits, the extra goes to city I live in.)

Ice, I'm just curious abotu something, I'm trying to figure out different outlooks on prices.

Do you just craft, or do you fight as well? I'm just curious if you are only covering your Droid expenses or your playing expenses as a whole.

See that is the thing for me.

My DE supports my Combatent, Entertainer and Doctor. I have spent about 30 million Droid money on my Entertainer suit. My Combatent is by far my biggest money sink. Food, Armor, and Weapons. I just spent 4.5 million yesterday (seriously) on new PVP armor. I like being able to bid on and buy better weapons. Even though I can bid in the millions, I still quite often get outbid. Just yesterday, I chipped in 5 million for our Jedis and some crystals. They need them for PVP.

My point is that for me, "expenses" means far more then just Droid expenses. My DE supports the rest of the game for me as well, plus my guild. There is no way that I could do this if I charged less, heck it's hard enough as it is.

I think that this is why we see such a big difference in pricing between people. Some people see "expenses" as 200k a week to run harvs and factories. Others like me think of it in terms like being able to bid 20 Million on an Uber Stun Baton.

Again, I am not debating your prices, I am seriously just curiouswhat you consider expenses. Saying you have more money then you know what to do with is one thing if you are simplypaying maint. It is totally something else if you spend money on items and auctions.

That is definately one of the reasons DE's tend to have different views on prices. You have your combat character and entertainer to pay for, whereas someone like me really only has their factories and houses to pay for (as well as the random wedding, house warming, cantina, or other occasion gift), which is significantly less than food, buffs, armor, weapons, etc. Even my entertaining side of me is "free" since I don't actively buff (and therefor don't need an expensive buff suit).

100% crafter. Casual player, combat just takes to much time. Crafting I can keep up with just playing a few hours a week.

Yea that explains it. Nothing wrong with that playstyle but it definitly explains why there is such a wide range of prices. It's very different if you are trying to fund combat stuff as well.
