Thread: You guys are totally missing the point

Basically, my arguement boils down to: Make more useful/effective droids, and give them some form of decay so they need to be replaced periodically. That will bring DE's business, more than experimentation will. If there is no form of decay, once everyone has the best experimented droid, what then? Sales drop off again.
I could not agree more. This post has some excellent arguments and sugestions and I am happy to see a conversation centered around fixing the product and not the profession.
In conjunction with Ootwo conclusion, the need for unlocking the cap on med rates, armor ratios, and component effectiveness, combined with usage decay would bring this profession in line with others. We would see a marked increase in the demand for med levels of 130, armor ratios of 60%. I read my galaxy board and not a week goes by that someone is looking for a prenerfed probot. Why? gives them an advantage. When we can produce products at differing attributes we will see those DE's who care enough to use the finest materials, and experiment, gain market share.
Thanks again,

I think all of the posts in this thread are important to make the profession better. I definately agree that the experimentation is VERY key so that you have varying levels of performance and prices for a droid model. However, there is not nearly enough variety of droid models that you can make to effect all of the professions in the game. For instance, is there an entertainer droid? A droid that has cool colors and a sound system that would give its owner better tips cause he or she puts on a better show than an entertainer without a droid? I guess it comes down to your perspective, everyone has a different one. I always saw that in star wars, the droids always had a supporting roll, assisting their owners with whatever task. Like swg is comming out with vehicles and spaceships. While it should be that any class can drive a speeder, if you get a droid to plug into it, then you speeder gets better attributes, like it is faster or goes farther, or has better sensors.
For combat, if you only get to deploy one droid, why not be able to have one that does alot of damage? I think that the oct 23rd post is a good idea with haveing droid sockets that mount different types of weapons. I think you could go further and be able to use any ranged weapon in the game to mount on your droid. Does that really hurt chs? I mean from what I see, they can have multiple creatures out at one time and each seem to to do ALOTof damage. I dont see how this makes an unbalance? I think haveing a heavy damage droid evens things up so that professions like doctors and entertainers can participate in group combat and be useful.
