Not a problem...just switching between TC and the forums. What else is there to do in the 1.25 minutes that it takes for me ride back and forth between my survey mission and town?

Well thats interesting to know.

I think in the coming weeks you will see combat players start to migrate to a doctor/melee build.

Creature pets losing the armor and high kinetic resists doesnt mean people will use probots.

Problem with using Probots are:

Unhealable

Low charge times.

Ham too low

I tried using my probot in a tank with a ranged profession. They resists are good, but 800 ham is just too low to use on anything above level 20. Plus once that ham is drained, out of service for the night.

Add to that creatures are aggroing the handler, defeats the purpose of a tank. So your left with the damage output. 80 damage every 2 seconds.

Much better combat build after the patch is doctor buffs, 2000+ points to all your stats except mind and melee defense skills. The player is the new tank.

Maybe one day they will build a useful combat droid.

man could they screw our class over anymore ? i mean really .. come on now. All we can do is make weak probots and crafting droids BAM that's it .

Not that I disagree however, out of service for the night? I run 5k rebel missions (think thats like lvl 24) do one, camp call another probot, and finish the other one. With a three Probot rotation I always have a full hamed probot. Again, not that I disagree; we do NEED droid healing, but everyone is forever whining thatprobots are wholly useless. If nothing else it allows you to up the mission difficulty via grouping.

It only ups the mission difficulty if you're pulling lower than CL 10 missions alone - else it actually *lowers* the mission difficulty to be grouped.

Otherwise, though I second what you said - I rotate two Probots per 2 missions (4k credit missions), and never have to worry about their HAM, unless I'm jumped going back and forth (or one of the NPCs has an armor piercing weapon...grrr).

As for will people use them - they're a nice distraction in combat - with 40% medium armor, they take forever for a mob to kill, which has saved me countless times from being db'ed (since the mobs try to finish off the droid before db'ing me - I've had a droid last a good 60 seconds vs a Rebel Wilderness Spec Op type mob). I'd like to see a CL 10 creature pet do that...

Something else to consider now is the overall cost. I made this comparison on the TC forum

Lets compare this pricing to what it will cost to buy3 Advanced Probots with Medium 40% armor and a crate of batteries. A good shopper will be able to find3 Adv Probots, with max armor, and a crate of batteries for under 50k. Until the droid stims are relased, in the upcoming DE patch, the use of three Probots is the bet way to avoid quite a bit of down time. As soon as one Droid drops below 50 HAM, just call out a new one, between combat. 3 Probots and a crate of good batteries will last for a total of 24 hours of game time with minimal down time.

A single CL10 pet, one that is Bio-Engineered,couldeasily hit the 50k mark in the same 24 hour period, dueto the cost of the pet and the crates of stims that you will need to buy, just to keep the pet from getting incapped.

You may not be able to heal a Probot, but you can't heal a CL10 pet while you're incapped.

Does anyone have the stats for normal probots? And will ones currently made be upgraded to the new point system? Thanks.

I posted them in another thread... will repost here.

HAM 817
Speed 2.45
To Hit: 0.21
Damage: 60-80

This is for effectiveness in the high 80s, low 90s... I forget. Will see if I can create another and actually remember my effectiveness rating.
