Adding a new profession is not in any way set in stone, asmuch as i wish it was. Most of what TH had to say recently actually casts a huge shadow over the chance of Droid Commander seeing the light of day. As for fixes, i understand that there are indeed some DE fixes coming up in the upcoming publishes. Repair for droids and fixing a few bugs and an exploit are the ones that come to mind.

I also have to agree with the points he makes. Experimentation is just horrible. I have said before that it would be nice to be able to have some freindly competition with other DE's on who makes the best droid. I see it in every other artisan profession but ours.

And while others make the credits hand over fist (armorsmiths and weaponsmiths) we make a modest amount of credits yet we require more work for our end product.

Just my opinion.

Make or break? I don't think its possible to be any more broken than we currently are. Well, then again, there was the time we couldn't make droids for 5 days...

well yeah droid engineer is already broken... but in this next attempt to fix it or patch it up will determine wether or not alot of droid engineers will keep the profession.

I am glad to see alot of droid engineers feel the same way I do though. For awhile there I felt very alone.

No need to feel alone, us DEs are like a big family.

I have to agree with a lot of the points he makes. Especially the points about experimentation not doing squat and the amount of nesting we do to make the bulk of our good droids. Has anyone tried making a bunch of R3's in a factory? Gad! if you don't have the stuff crated beforehand, it can takes days before you can actually make the finished product. He didn't even mention the fact that Master Artisan is almost required (yeah, yeah, I know Jenden, you buy schematics).

I have never had anyone come back and piss and moan about a droid I sold them ( I take that back...I had one girl VERY mad because her surgical droid wasn't healing her in a fight).I have gotten several repeat customers because they said I was so helpful when they bought their first droid. That said, Isure would like to be able to point to one my droids and say "Hey! I got 12 experimentation points! Look how much better my droids are than that guy next door!"

Maybe it will improve one day, but I can't wait another year for new and interesting things to be added to keep it entertaining I am getting bored and need to try something new or get out for good I guess.
