Thread: Top 5 (& top 20) Droid Engineer Issues!! (04/14/04)
Hey TK...
last night i had an old customer come by to pick up a probot and discuss what some of the new changes would be... he brought his old probot with him that had a nice but of black on the ham... and out of habit i was typing the comand for my droid to heal, even knowing at the same time it wouldn't work... when low and behold it did.
just to let you know, i haven't reprogrammed my droid or anything like that. it just started working again.

What is the point of the Level D Droid Repair Kit when the devs make it impossible to find the resources to make it?
Impossible? No...
Not spawnedon your server yet? Yea, maybe...
I've heard of some DEs (not a ton) making Level D's but I see that going up with the new changes bringing DL18/19 combat droid HAMs. The rares will still be needed though...so I guess one just has to keep their eye out.
I've been waiting for about a month surveying for Vendussi Amphorous Gemstone to make a Level 6 Droid Repair Kit, however it is not showing up.
All good things, in time I guess. /shrug
It wouldn't suprise me if you see this start to pop up here and there over the next few weeks.
We on Ahazi just got some pretty rockin' new Agrinium Aluminum...so I know whereof you worry, brotha'.
Regular trips to the bazaar are not yielding any success either. It's just a droid repair kit. Why does it need a rare gemstone to make it work? It's not a freakin lightsaber.
Hmmmm..../thinking maybe a new "Lightsaber module".
Just keep an eye on this for now. There's always a chance it's scheduled for next Mon. on your server.

Respectfully,
max out for me at about 1580/32
It isnt the repair kits that are bogging me down though,
its the fact i cant make half of the ADV sub-components.
Anyone notice any droids mounted in the X-wings in the "Jump to Lightspeed" screenshots? I didn't. It would be nice if they could give us schematics for a "navigation" module, which we could fit into astromech droids for space travel. That way, when the Space Expansion comes out we could sell our droids to pilots for navigation and repair.
Example:
R2 Droid:
Navigation Module
Repair Module
Heavy Armor
A droid with the above configuration could extend the radar range of a ship, provide some in-flight repairs to sustained damage and give the pilot the ability to reroute power to essential systems from less-essential systems (i.e. - shut down navigation/radar systems to power up a damaged weapon or shield system).
Personally, if I don't see some cool new changes to the droid profession before the Spaceship Expansion I'm seriously going to consider becoming a ship-builder.

Fine by me, just means we get to sell another droid.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. I suppose I will have to be patient and wait for the Vendussi to spawn. I had no idea they were planning DL18/19 HAMs for the next publish! Excellent.

This is a beautiful idea. Imagine R2 units mounted outside X-wings (for example), providing some in-combat maintenance just like in the movies and books! Beautiful! What could be more Star Warsy than that?
*sigh* That means it'll never happen.

Here's a little quote from JustG you might have missed:
" I know there is alot of talk about combat droids... and how/ why/ when they make it into the game... but there is another very important market coming up for your group. Can't say alot about it right now, but remember who rode shotgun with Luke in his X-Wing..."
I missed another memo ![]()
BLL chassisies do not crate. I made a few for the upcoming patch and to make some room (NOT!!!)
I only have 2 comments, then I'm off.
Comment 1 is a bug : I keep having inventory items disappear from my inventory to not show-up till after I log for (experimental) at least 30 minutes.
Comment 2 is a suggestion : With all the specific resources needed for MDE ( and other professions, i'm sure) to construct components, and all the components needed to construct finished product droids, wouldn't it make sense to have the architect profession crafting warehouses that can store (at the very least) double what we currently use for storage purposes (small houses)? Just a thought.
I think we should have the naming rules changed!!!
So we could call a droid (R5-M2) or like that!!!
That would be nice!!!
