Thread: I was approuched last night to sell my schematics to a BH

Not neccessarily. The fact that this guy was simply asking for a schematic for a probe droid (not realizing he would need the exact correct factory run of modules) makes me believe he hadn't thought this out very well. It's very possible the thought he would get the schematic and borrow time on a friend's factory to bang out a couple of hundred droids with no real clue of what was involved (for pity's sake, where did he expect to get the resources from? Buy them from the bazaar?)

Which isn't to say you're wrong. Maybe he did have everything lined up and the schematic was the end point and he wasn't aware of the stumbling block of the modules. It just seems to me to more likely be my case.

yes you do need the exact same EMM and EGP that means those with exact serial number... and if factory wasn't changed there's only 4 crates of 25 of those exist (one whole batch in a factory run) and you took 2 EGP to make the schematics, if my logic is right, you can sell him 100 charge schematic, 1000 or unlimited, but no matter how you do it, he'll be able to make exactly 49 seeker droids, that's it. then the schematic is trash, no matter how many charge's left.

It is possible to do runs of more that 100 items. It is not completely clear if its a bug in the slider bar that only lets you put in 100 items or if it's a bug in the text box that lets you type in over 100 items. My current guess based on how it handles the input and based on some of the problems that the factory often has when it tries to exceed 100 items is that its a bug in the text box.

That said, I can't really imagine why it's limited to 100 items. When I want to make a factory run of advanced R3 frames the 100 item really bites, not because I want to make over 100 R3s but because I need 4 identical EMMs and GP Modules to make 1 Advanced Droid Brain. If you figure I take the best of 3 (frequently for most factory runs I take the best of 5) for my schematics then I am only able to make 22 ADBs if 100 is the limit. Now I need 2 identical droid brains for my R3. Again with the best of 3 I end up grinding out 8 R3 frames. If I skip over best of 3 and I go for the absolute maximum number of R3s I can produce it turns out to be 11 (100 modules turn into 24 brains turn into 11 R3s).

Ok. I'm obviously starting to hijack this thread. My apologies. My real point was you can make schematics with over 100 items, though its probably an exploit, and I really wish they would raise that limit (for that matter, why is there always a limit? Being able to place a limit on a schematic is nice, but certainly Detroit isn't forced to stop every 100 cars and put in new copies of the blueprints).

Aye, I totally understand about the identical component issue (not sure if the BH does though).

Perhaps I'm confused on something then - when you create a schematic for 100+ (electonics modules, or anything else), set the factory to run the first 100, redeed and then run another 100... don't both sets of 100 share the same serials since they originate from the same schematic? I'm at work right now, so I can't verify - but I might be wrong hehe.

Anyone know for sure?

Either way, the ultimate goal is to have the DE's producing the final products for sale - giving the BH (and any other profession requiring droids) time to concentrate on their individual professions.

Yes, they do have the same serial number. In fact you can run 100, pull the schematics, build something else, put the schematics back in and run more. The serial number is actually contained in the schematic, so as long as it still has 'charges' you can knock out more items with the same serial number.

I know this because I did run off 200 GP and EMM modules at one point (I was of the mind set at the time that the slider was bugged but later decided it was probably a bug in the text input that I was 'exploiting' and decided not to use it any more).

I was also approached by the same Bounty Hunter last night. I'll admit that I was alarmed and fearful of selling a schematic to him at such a low cost (someone can justturn around and sell these on the open market themselves)- but after speaking with him and considering the tasks required to actually create the final product (he will have to create the electronics modules first himself - or buy them from us), I agreed to create a limited-run schematic.

If a person is willing to go the extra mile to provide materials for themselves, I'm willing to help them along in their endeavor - people have done the same for me Eventually (hopefully)they'll come to realize that there may be a better way of doing things (i.e. letting us worry about doing all the leg-work to create the droids). If not, it's still a revenue source... and there seems to be plenty of customers out there in the marketplace. Theoretically, this customer base will grow tremendously once charged BH droids are released to the live servers. Vive la DE!

I don't believe he can actually do that. As I stated above I am pretty sure he has to have EMMs and GP Modules with the exact same serial numbers as those use to create the original schematics. The only way that will happen is if they were all produced in the same factory run.
