Well, in response to TK421, I have to agree! (Gasp!) I know, I know. LOL
Joking aside, I make very few Adv R3 droids, only the Harvesters and Detonation types. My main sellers are standard R2 units surprisingly, and they have made me a pretty penny.
They look prettier too!
On, and I do a nice sideline in LE Repair Droids Chassis as Gong Bashers! Try it! It looks great!

Or...just have one chassis option. It uses (as someone suggested), either a:

Oh trust me, I hate the idea that we only have one droid that everyone wants just because it can do the most. But the only way to be a DE is to meet and beat the demand. I really wish the devs would do some serious revamping of droids and the DE prof. Make it so we have SEVERAL droids that can hold 6 modules, so there's a greater variety in the game.
- Adv. Droid (non-Adv. Chassis) Frame
- Adv. Droid Chassis Frame
Depending on the one you wanted, you use the right Frame above and you get either a basic version or Adv. Chassis.
Also...I really like the idea of being able to experiment on the number of module slots available. This would work up to a point (we don't want 6-module MSEs for example). Doing that would allow most any droid to be possible for anyone to use like do with the R3 Adv. now. We can't forget, however, that R3 Adv. are supposed to be a perk/best type droid (since they are at the MDE box).
Oh well....we won't solve this today. So, things will stay pretty much as they are now. /shrug

Experimenting for more slots. That is a good idea. Any clue when the devs might take a look at enhancing us again?

They have bigger stuff on their collective plate, currently. JTL / Combat Balance & Revamp, etc.

My main issue to focus on for them would be decay...

Yea, I probably wont actually put any chasis together until we get more of a final word. Will just have a lot of parts ready when we hear something.
My biggest concern is that they will require some odd resource for some of the new stuff. Assuming we get new stuff. It would really suck if we couldn't make a new module or 2 because nobody ever collecteda resourcefor anything.

As far as chassis varity, I have no problem selling other types on my vendor...for the most part, if you have a droid with popular features, they will sell...for instance, for 30k I sell an R4 with item storage, medical capability and a food/chem crafting station. This fulfills the need for about 90% of the doctors/medics out there, and gives an option for those just looking for relatively cheap storage droids.

This doesn't exactly fit here, but I've come up with an idea that might be a decent seller.
Gonks with playback modules. Great for a 2+ person band. They can keep the droids of everyone else charged without having to stop.
So there's a variety of droids for everything. If I had any clue what our role in JTL was, I'd be sure to have a variety of droids to cover it.
Damn NDA....

To get ready, I plan on pestering the local EB Games store for a copy of the pre-order beta disk. I will call and bug them every day for the next month. That is how I am getting ready.

I concidered stocking up on R3 Chassis myself. Then I realized...
What if they do something stoopid like make the classic R2 droid the only one capable of being an astromech, for the sake of "world continuity" (after all, didn't see anything other than R2's in the original StarWars)......
"Hi, I'd like to buy and astromech droid please"
"Sorry, but I'm out of resources and storage for parts. How about a nice R3 droid?"
....
Did I just say all that out loud? The jinx isn't my fault I tell ya! Back, back you mob! Back!

In a few weeks/months?
*Surveys Galaxy*
when was there ever a use for anything other than an R3? Especially after 6/7. Before 6, maybe a few...but 7 sealed that fate.

I'm actually all for that. I would love to sell some R2s.
