Thread: Friday Update a slap in the Face to DEs
I dont know where to point ya to here.. But it was something that a PA mate has reposted on our PA boards for us..
but it has been said, i swear 
Just a little side not.. Swooper bikes will be craftable with Eng 4... And they are getting put in before the yet unamed "Viechle maker" profession (likely so we can test out the base code before they add the whole thing in)
But, I plan on having my creature mount and my swoop bike.. If nothing else just for variety

I have no idea, still after reading this thread.
What "Friday Update" are you guys talking about? What was changed?
I saw the update list for last Friday and didn't see any that would.
I was just asking what the thread was about.
Is it just that other classes are getting attention and we are not? Well, see the post in my .sig for my opinions on that. It's ridiculous.
But this thread seemed to be talking about a specific "update", and it's just not clear what in hell people are talking about, LOL.

Audio, when you 1st log on to SWG website, look down, every friday they list things they were working on or new things to be added soon. This week they made a big show of how they are working on player ridable mounts. Even to the extent of having a movie clip of someone riding around on a creature.
So this friday's update basically said, Hey we got a way to make CHs even richer, soon they will be able to sell ridable mounts to all the peons out there.
Now what did they say about any other profession in this update? Squat. Not a word about "And hey we are working on droids, expect to see some new ones soon". All we get is word that CHs will become even more powerful. That was the reason for my original post.
You know, its the continual amount of threads like these that have caused the devs to ignore this forum. I mean honestly, take a look at the thread titles in this forum.. "The sky is falling!" .. "Whoe whoe is me!" ... "I hate the world, especialy the the part where the devs live" ... "DE is nurfed.." .. "DE is a dead profession" .. "if you are thinking of being a DE, don't bother" ... "I wamt to kill myself because my droid can't fight a womp rat" ... "CH this" .. "CH that" ... "more CH stuff"
Hell, If I were a forum mod I would begin to start ignoring threads like these too.
I'm a DE, have been for a while. Ocassionaly my DE duties get placed on a back burner and I concentrate of PA related PVP stuff ... but even so, I still manage to sell more than enough droids to make a profit and be happy.
Lighten up a little people. Changes *ARE* coming to this profession. All this anger is only increasing the likleyhood that you'll get no replies.
As for the whole thing about them spending time on mounts instead of droids... talk about splitting hairs! Creature mounts is the first step to vehicles. Vehicle construction (as the devs have stated many times) will be placed in the engeering group .. thats our group. Once vehicles are in, mounts will become obselete .. CHers are unlikely to be able to build vehicles. Therefore *WE* will have the upper hand.
Firstly, I'm glad to hear you're making sales, that's good, I too make some sales, but the fact is we are broken. Creatures are getting all the attention, to the detriment of other areas of the game, especially droids, and since every change to the DE profession we find out about from other Forums (including CH forums) and that the Devs don't even have the decency to post a link to the thread on our forum. We've had virtually no Dev posts on the forum except the famous Probot Nerf post, and the First Corrospondent reply. Now we've had changes since then, but no one has bothered to post them on our board, we have every right to be annoyed.
We get nerfed, then CHs get given the business we were nerfed out of, and you do know that Creature mounts was the reason given for giving everyone a CL15 creature, not combat, but guess what, all these pets are perfectly usable in combat, some of the pets I've seen Non-CHs with aren't even suitable as mounts, Rock Beetles anyone, I saw one guy with a Vynock, like he's going to be able to ride that around.
Yeah we're annoyed, I'd like to bet that once creature mounts go in, work on vehicles will slow down, and eventually they'll just think, well we're gonna be releasing the space expansion soon, we'll lump vehicles in with that.
So yeah, it does feel like a slap in the face to DEs, to all the engineering professions infact, an area that, in a sci-fi game, should be the preserve of the engineering professions is going to be monopolised by a creature profession, at least to start with. If anyone should be building vehicles it should be Engineers, and their derived professions, while creature mounts have there place, this isn't the dark ages, this is a high-tech world, with anti-gravity (repulser lifts) and hyperspace travel, the game should reflect this. They should have concentrated on Vehicles first, then got creatures mounts working later, even player cities are more important than creature mounts.
