- Power droids complain of low power.

Apower droid is supposed to have infinite power?

- Power droids can not have repair modules.

Because they'rePOWER droids (see Repair droids)

- Repair droids can not have repair modules

And it has been stated NUMEROUS times that the devs are aware of it. Why can't you be patient.

- Converse droids have not been able to take a name since the dawn of this game.

You call this a bug? Where are your priorities man!? This is hardly even an inconvienience. Would you rather see a slew of LEs running around called Sir-Fix-A-Lot?

- Data modules serve no purpose

I don't know what you're crafting, but my droid's data modules store DATA. IE; Crafting schematics.. What else should they contain?

- Our BEST (from a resources required perspective) chassis has no module slots.

What would you need to put mods in a chassis for? You put them into the finished product, no?

Ummm... Star Wars Encyclopedia?Come on man.. It's a *edit* game!

Maybe the repair mod dosent work in the power droid because (and I'll say it again) ITS A POWER DROID. Why can't a master DE not use a rocket launcher??? BECAUSE HE'S NOT A COMMANDO. Follow this formula and perhaps it'll make sense to you.

The devs took out the ability to put waypoints in data mods because of an exploit. Read a little.. Before I open my mouth (or post in this case) I do my homework. Try reading up on why things happen instead of complaining about them.

Regarding the BLL: Again, the Devs are aware of this. They've even mentioned it. Refer to the- Try reading comment for more info on this.. I remember the 3k ham probots too, I still have mine. I may not have been a DE as long as you, but it seems to me that I understand it better enough to live with the problems, accept them, and enjoy it while I wait for the corrections to be made.

It seems to me that you are angry about paying $14 for something you see to be broken. Where I live, $14 can buy you a lot of things that can allow you to build things.. Try Legos or Linclon Logs perhaps..

Why don't you stop complaining about the profession and just bail!

Roeri,

The limitations you outline are not merely undocumented, they are also illogical. If a combination is intended not to work, all it would take would be a short statement to that effect. A power droid accepts one functional module, thus it should work with a repair module, QED. As for your statement on LE Repair droids, patience is one thing. Half a year of a simple, basic functional combination being broken is quite another.

What it sounds like you're trying to say is that there's enough good in Droid Engineering that we should not worry about the bad. But the bad COSTS us, costs us a lot in terms of time and study if nothing else, and if one does NOT do such studying, it costs one's reputation, as half the things you try to assemble don't work.

Look, I like droids a lot, but let's not sugarcoat things: We've got REAL problems.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

I hate these types of pointless arguments. There is no winner. You love DE And arehappy makingwhat is available and waiting for the fundimentals of acomplete profession.I am frustraded (much like our former DE coresponant Sinostri).

Now back to the back and forth:

>Ummm... Star Wars Encyclopedia?Come on man.. It's a *edit* game!

Its a Star Wars game.

>The devs took out the ability to put waypoints in data mods because of an exploit. Read a little.. Before I open my mouth (or post in this case) I do my homework. Try reading up on why things happen instead of complaining about them.
Ive been with these boards for quite a while. I am aware of the series of bugs that the data module caused (missions, pets, infinate storage). You assume too much.

They built a framework where any droid can have anymodule (exceptions are combat abilities, and a power core). Thenwhen a series of these modules do not funtion, people try to justify their errors with simplistic and non relevant similies.

>It seems to me that you are angry about paying $14 for something you see to be broken. Where I live, $14 can buy you a lot of things that can allow you to build things.. Try Legos or Linclon Logs perhaps..
14$ a month is no small amount of money. It gives you and I the privledge of posting our opinions on a game we both play, here in this private forum. Lego's are great.

Well, how are the devs to know how to fix the profession, I agree don't whine. They do make their points. Do the Architects make houses that only store one item. Do weaponsmiths make weapons that don't shoot. Do amorsmiths make armor that only looks good?

I would say no, and it is not like the problems with the DE stuff just happened with the latest patch,no, it has been around since I joined the game, which BTW was day two because I had to wait for pay day.

So we are whining, because we want stuff to work.

It has been 6 months, come on man... where does it end..

Perhaps I got a little annoyedbecause my original post was SO misunderstood. I originally stated that I've been able to make GREAT amounts of money even with the amount of bugs that are present. It comes down to the whole "knowing your limitations" point I made. Then I get jumped on by some Star Wars Encyclopedia quoting person about my needing to "get a clue" Pardon me if I might get a bit offensive.. but I'm just sick of the whining.. these people are like a bunch of children.. State the problem, the cause, and a possible solution, but for crying out loud! Think about it.. The developers know EXACTLY what is broken and bugged.. And I'm sur ethey're working on it as we speak.. just try and be cool and calm down a bit...

You're scaring the children!

Great original post, Roeri, and I would have agreed with itin August, September, or even Mid-October. But we are now at the 6 month point from launch. Lets see what has happened since then.

Armorsmiths, had the HAM costs reduced on their product, which also degrades and needs to be replaced.

Weaponsmiths, Had the special materials required to make commando weapons removed, they also sell an item that degrades and needs to be replaced (My BE on another server has gone through 8 pistols so far and is not even 1/2 way to master BE)

CHs. I dont even know where to start with them. 1st of all they are a combat class that somehow makes more money than any of the artisan classes. Pets were nerfed, buffed, then nerfed again. Then mounts were added to the game, just what CHs needed, another cash cow (pardon the pun). Then pets were nerfed down to level 10 for non CHs, dragging our level 16 probots down with them. Which brings us to...

DEs, had our only useful product nerfed (the 3k HAM Probot) because, we were told, that allowing everyone in the game to have such a powerful pet was out of line. Then in the next patch CHs were selling pets more powerful than our probots to every non CH out there. Hmmm, then they had a patch where DROIDS PERMA DIED BUT CH PETS DID NOT?!?!?!?! I mean holy cow, why not just spit in our faces. That lasted a whole month. Then they finally put the armor back on our probots that they had removed after the 1st patch. Then they added colorization, which is still bugged. Of course in between there was the patch that made all our droid crafting station act like public, not private crafting stations, that was a good one. And of course as stated above, our level 16 probots are now level 10.

While most artisan classes sell disposable, or equipment that otherwise has to be replaced from time to time, DEs (along with architects) sell items that while may be resold on the market, need never be replaced. This limits our sales to mostly new players to the server. That is why what we really want is more diverse and useful products to sell. While every player will eventually need a house from an architect, if for nothing more than the storage space, not every class can use or has need of our products.

It would be nice if we had droids that helped every profession. We should be able to make droids that make every profession's life easier. But every patch seems to nerf us, or just add more bugs to our droids making them less desirable. That is why the DE community is so frustrated and mad.

Roeri...**edit** shame you aren't on Corbantis. Your post reads **edit** near the same as many a speach our Captain gives us. We of the Black Company have learned the Truth of that One Simply Fact : You Make Your Game, That's the Whole Point.

Whether is mobile crafters, medical, or storage droids, I seem to do just fine making money. Then again, I don't charge out the wazoo for them, even though making money in this game has become all too easy for many out there.

Its All about imagination and resourcefulness. That's really the bottom line. Anyone who disagrees has precious little of both.

Another fact is this: Some people are born complainers. I say let them. I have no more need of thier responses to have fun than I the bugs some say are our "problem" Sure, I'll agree, we have bugs and broken stuff. But we have plenty that works too.

Anyway, I just want to say I agree 100% . and if you need a place to fit in with some like minded folks, stop by New Khatovar on Dantooine in the Corbantis System.

Roeri, just cause you CAN be a pooh, doesn't mean you HAVE to be a pooh.

Power droids have 'a small fusion reactor in their belly capable of powering a small spacecraft'....
So they should need to be recharged with BATTERIES??? DUH!!!

Repair droids that can't repair, hmmmm, where should we start?
After SIX months of gameplay where is our patience???

Converse droids can't be named - see previous.....
Besides, it's our CUSTOMERS that have to deal with 'a 2-1B Surgical Droid' so screw them.
Don't start on the name filter - RtwoDtwo.

Data modules store DATA.
Are you having problems storing all those zillions of draft schematics in your datapad?
How about the zillions of WAYPOINTS many of us have???

Chassis? CHASSIS??? We don't need no stinking chassis!
You KNOW what they ment. Don't add to the density of your post.
Doesn't matter, we have what we have - Std R2 needs a socket cluster instead of Adv R2?
Production III or IV? OK, whatever.

We got problems. Everyone who knows, knows.

People just stating the facts.

Density won't change that......

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

The only reason people by droids most of the time is because they have a few millionto waste and the credit market is getting over inflated. It isn't that had to make a few million credtis by selling resources or running mission's

I'm complaining of waisting resources on droids that do abolutly nothing but look bugged. I would say cool but after about 5 days you have to recolor the droid that never keeps the originall color that it was made with

I'm complaining of Binary Load Lifters and Prtotocol droids with absolutly no point other then look. For those that don't know Adv. model's do have droid slots.

I'mcomplaining of Medical Droids with no inherent medical abilities at all

I'm complaining about Repair droids with no advantage to repairing stuff

I'm complaining about every droid doing everything

I'm complaining about Droid not displaying what is inside of them STILL display only med mod, item storage, data storgae is not a fix it is an INSULT

I'm complaining about Droids taking more power then my speed,my house, my harvester (if you want to exa gerate).

Probot's I'm not complaining about because in the movie chewy one shot killed the probot because it was only a scout droid not really ment for combat however there arecombat droids in the universe ie. Droideka's (Hell they're even in the game), dark troopers....

you have to be a retard if you think there is nothing wrong with a profesion that has been bugged and never fixed since the begining of the game. And no pet follow glitch wasn't our fix it was the CH's fix.

Cool post, love the way the original post has been twisted into a totally different argument. Back to the original statement, I agree totally. As a recently qualified Master DE I'm really enjoying it, and I'm making a ton of money. Yeah, I may not have millions like your average Weaponsmith, but I've got enough, and anyway, after your 1st million money becomes meaningless (unless your wanting to buy holocrons)

Yeah we've got a load of bugs, yeah we compare unfavourably with SOME other professions (you want to moan about how your profession sucks? Become a Chef)

So what!!! Deal with it!! If not, quit the profession. I enjoy the profession AS IT IS, and I play it AS IT IS.

And if ur holding out for mega improvements (apart from bug fixes) forget about it!! You'll only be dissapointed. Learn to enjoy the game AS IT IS, and make the most of it.
