Okay, so, these characters have the ability to build starships to travel the stars, bio-engineer animals by playing God with their DNA and even -- bring people back to life (I know, just kidding), yet..... They still haven't figured out how to make roads?

i didnt see anything about droids...TK can you see if the devs can say anything about being able to use droids to repair the ships .. that way every ship owner has to buy a droid to maintain their ship in flight and prolong the
the time between having to dock.... somehting like sticking 4 crates of batteris into a Back-Up Battery Supply Module.. since it would consume a lot of energy to use a Ship Repair Module droid

umm... I still can't figure out how I'm going to "shoe-horn" an R2 unit into a TIE Interceptor... damn....

I was looking at one of my Repair Modules the other day, and it description had a line similar to the "Personality installed" line you see in a Conversation Droid. It said "Repair program installed" or something similar. This leads me to think that the original design was going to call for one module, with the potential for installing different Chipsets for different jobs. I really hope this finally gets implemented for the space expansion, with chips for droid, spaceship, and vehicle repair.


Maybe even make the schematics for such chips as rewards for some noncombat content. Do a series of research missions for a company in Coronet, and you help them design a vehicle repair chip. Ok, I admit it. I really just want to go up in a building taller than 2 stories instead of down into a cave.

Very cool.


Hopefully they balance the ships well. The X-wing is pretty superior to the basic Tie fighter, sicne it has shields. Hopefully more advanced Ties are available.


This is a perfect opportunity for them to make some killer Droid things, Astromechs and Repair Droids are easy examples.


I'm a little bummed though that it looks like you will need to actually take some type of Profession to be a good pilot. I was more hoping that me and my friends could just jump in and go wreak a little havoc. So it looks like you will need to choose either being a "planetary" or "space" fighter.

Well of course we'd love to hear if Droids will play any significant part in the Space Expansion, so pleeeeeease dont keep us in suspense for too long.


As far as the 4 new professions, I'd guess....

Ship Builder

Pilot

Fighter Pilot (with special combat skills)

and hmmm..... Space Droid Engineer. lol well, maybe not.


And those two new species?...

Hmmm... did they say NEW as in new to players (meaing using some existing NPC alien races), or NEW as in new to game...

Sullustans make good pilots I think.
