It's dead to us because the DE community has already addressed the issue. Until we get some kind of official feedback, we are just repeating ourselves.

Point taken... and I posted on the matter so many times in the initial round of debate that I have to admit I am tired of posting about it...

Why do u all want a cert system. All that a cert system will do is limit who we could sell droids to. Also if the cert system is to hard it will kill the de profession. I agree with Ryde droids are not animals they have a brain of their own why in the world would person need to cert to use a droid. If we need to be cert for droids then we should need to be cert for pets.

Right now, we won't be able to sell the new droids to anyone - only DE's will be able to make them, and only DE's will be able to use them.

We know that the devs just won't let anyone use the new combat droids - they don't want skilless newbies using them.

The only way to avoid these two items is a cert system.

There are many examples of droid cert systems already listed on this forum that would make more powerful combat droids open to a large number of people, yet at the same time keep them from being in every single characters possession. I'm using an excerpt from the thread, listed in my sig, to list one of the many examples of a cert system that could base higher level combat droids on what a person has done with their character.

A character would gain a droid cert rankingwhen they; gaina Novice Elite profession, Master a starting profession, gain a second Novice Elite profession, gain a third Novice Elite profession, or Master an Elite Profession. So, in order to callthe most powerful combat droid available, a character would need to have a) 2 Elite professions, Master a starting profession, and a Master Elite profession b) 3 Elite professions and a Master Elite profession, or c) 3 Elite professions and a Master starting profession. This system would allow anyone that has spent time leveling up their character the ability to call a stronger combat droid, instead of limiting such a droid to only combat professions. The following is a chart of what type of combat droids are gained at which level

Cert Rank Combat Droid Available
0Base Combat Droids (Current in game)
1Improved Combat Droid (Battle Droid)
2Mid-rangedCombatDroid (Advanced Battle Droid)
3Expert CombatDroid (Droideka)
4 Advanced Combat Droid (Advanced Droideka)

Problem, if Droideka are any good (wich everyone wants), they will nerf the CH class.

Thing about it, why spend 63 skill points on creature handler when you can just be a bounty hunter or a comando, use a Droideka.

The only way to have advanced combat droids is to make it so only DE can use them. Sorry.

Now they can make lesser combat droids useable by everyone. (just as everyone can use lesser pets)

Argg..... that was poorly written guys. Sorry. What it should say:

I think you're using the word "nerf" in a nonstandard way. I think what you mean is that there will be less incentive to be a Creature Handler if there are decent droid pets. That's not a nerf.

To start with, though... what's the problem with that? There is currently too much incentive to be a creature handler. That's one of people's major complaints with the game in general -- too many critters, not enough droids.

Beyond that, it's not as black and white as you seem to think. Why would people be CH if there were other powerful pets? Well, they'd be CH for the same reason we're DEs now -- we want to play this profession. Simple as that. People wouldn't feel like they HAD to dabble in CH to get the huge combat advantage, and the creature handlers that remained would be just the people who actually wanted to be creature handlers. Creature handlers' power would not be reduced. Those who really wanted to be CH wouldn't suffer. In fact, in the most recently proposed changes, a MCH would still be the only profession able to control more than one combat pet at once. That constitutes an advantage of sorts, and one which some people would certainly pick up MCH to obtain, but it wouldn't be such a great advantage that everyone was inclined to pick it up.

/sign Droids MUST outnumber CH pets by a huge majority. This will be the only way for that to happen.

What I had in mind is somewhat of a cert/level progression. Make it so the level of the droid people can use is dependant on their level in their skill tree, not the DE skill tree.

I agree we cant have new players running around with IG series droids (Although the complaints when simi CH where doing it was seen as mad fun)

Here is my thought, although SWG does not really work on Levels.

Beginning skill paths- Probot of equal HAM to a CH at that level(Its only fair)

Elite Skill Trees (Any profession)

Novice- a advanced probot ortype there of

Second Bar of Elite Skills (Any Profession)

Roger,Roger droid or type there of

Forth Bar of Elite Skills (Any Profession)

Droideka Super Battle Droid Or type there of

Master Of Elite Skills (Any Profession)

IG Series or type there of

Lets stop the effect that CH has caused an make a system for everyone to be able to use the droids dependant on their skill level of THEIR path not on how much of the DE skill they have.

(IMO) Beat a dead horse long enough someone will notice.
