Thread: Droid Report: What's being done about this....Invasion?!?
DE is next to useless and SOE keeps promising you stuff just to back out or Nerf your already nerfed stuff even further.
My bunny is a better fighter than my Probot.
How much longer are you going to allow SOE to fool you before you start a riot in here?
Everyone playing this game would stand behind you since the one thing which would make this game feel a lot more star wars (right, droids as we see them in the dozens in the movies) isnt fixed and practically non-existent.

I've already dropped one major concern on Sodan (but it came from other Corrs, not from the Devs themselves)...
Ranged Support = disadvantageous situation for melee types
This makes sense to me. We want the melee players to get an equal shot at these. So, we need to consider if there is a better way to more properly 'cert' the ranged vs. melee folk. Just an example.

It would not be adventagous to put it in Master Brawler because the skill point expendature would be more than getting Marksman + range support.
However, I do think that this problem was the premise for putting a modifier (plus a cap) at each of the tier 4 levels of each of the basic professions. So as I see it, we've already presented a alternative solution.

Then again, we could always put it at Unarmed 4 and Range support 4 because it seems every brawler has some TKA/unarmed.

I never played EQ, never will. Star Wars I like. The monkeys want to turn into EQ In Space.........err........wait, we dont have Space yet.

Yes a greater percentage of players are combat orientated, so they deserve a bit more attention, but the LACK of SERIOUS attention to the crafting professions is scandalous... The only reason the majority of people take up the crafting professions is because of the HUGE profits that can be made by one or two of the professions... (AKA WS/AS/ARCH..)
I started this game as a Merchant from day 2, was one of the first master merchants on my server, and I just could not operate in any way shape of form due to some VERY serious MAJOR class breaking bugs to the profession and it took months to even get on the devs list of things to do. We eventually get a fix (which didnt even work completely) to make it so items didnt just poof from vendors... I mean how important is a bug like that to the whole merchant class, and they took 3-4 months minimum to come up with a solution, while they tinkered with every combat profession out there...

Keep up the good work. I'm also getting 'tells' concerning HOW bad these Droids are. People are trying out their droids against their friends...and their friends can kick their droids dead in almost one hit sometimes. And the Ham on these are over 1k
Currently still working to get Sunrunner DEs togeather. I'll get to you about how the situation is on Sunrunner later.
I will take your word for that, I never played it (EQ) as stated. However, I can see the tendencies towards a D&D type game. Pets before Droids, Mounts before Vehicles, Underground Dungeons vs I dont know something more representative of Starwars (alla Corvette).
Not only that, but the hard headed bullness of avoiding change towards SciFi that really frustrates me.

I still think the way to go is to give the CL10+ combat droids to Masters of non-combat professions, and forbid it to Novice or higher of combat professions.
Better not let those droid types have the 'friend' command tho.
You could still combine this with the Hybrid proposal as well, allowing the DE/DH people to have those combat professions that would otherwise invalidate their Combat Droid certification.

to be frank, i don't care how they do it, i just want the devs to implement cl10+ droids to the game SOMEHOW. EVERYONE is asking about them - they want to ditch their pets and get droids because they are soooo much more star wars. If that means they have to ditch ch with their pets and get dh then so be it.
