I hear where you're coming from. Next time around, seriously try what I suggested before.
Ask for a manufacturing schematic, and provide the resources yourself plus a crafting fee.
I don't personally know of any MA's that will turn that away, especially if offered some compensation. I do it for free if the reasources are provided. At the same time I never ever sell my EGP's etc as I need them too badly. So if I get asked for them directly, Ipolitely turn them down. That may be a major roadblock for ya, that can easily be overcome.

I agree with this to an extent. The economic model SWG uses fails in the bigger scheme, in that it doesn't encourage smaller operations such as wholesale of components. There simply is no incentive for anyone to sell components, and that includes medical, weapon, armor, and others as well. I tried for a long time to find someone willing to make these for me, and finally just bit the bullet and picked up master artisan. Way less headaches that way.
If you can find an artisan willing to repeatedly sell you schematics, go for that. But my own experience is that you probably will have trouble finding one willing to do it repeatedly over the long run. Running through those sub-components as fast as we do makes it all the worse.
I know there was talk about moving these up to the DE level many months ago, but no idea where that plan stands now. I had mastered DE back in January, but got out of it just a few weeks later when it became apparent that things were not going to be fixed anytime soon. Now I'm back and see not a great deal has changed, including this sub-component problem. Just something we have to deal with for the time being I guess.
