I am new to the Droid Engineering profession, and I am not a holo grinder. Over teh course of the last 2 weeks I have been making all needed components so putting everything together at the end will be easy. I have looked around various shops all over my server and find prices to range from 40k all the way to 75k on Advanced R3's with just the basics. (Crafting, Medical, and Storage). These are being sold be good DE's that have been around a while, heck I even bought one a while back.

Anyway, back on topic

After putting everything together and assembling the final product..even charging 5cpu for resources and multiplying the final number by 3, I only comer up with a igure around 28k.

Not objecting to hough prices, just wondering why such a high (600%) markup?

No flames please..just curious

I think the bottom line on droid pricing is charge whatever you feel like. There aren't enough DE's on each server to worry about competition and undercutting, so just charge what you feel like. All my droids are pretty cheap (fully loaded R3 with any modules is at most 29k)but I enjoy selling droids more than making credits, and I would rather make droids that more people can afford (yes, a lot of the high demand stuff like brandy is insanely expensive, but that is only getting out to a small percentage of the players).

Ye Gods Jenden..I have to tell you I'm bloody glad I'm not on your server..thats just way too low. I reckon you get too much pleasure from a sale than is healthy

Still, each can do as they think fit..but thats the abolute lowest I ever heard for an R3, even from some crazed hologrinder. I'm sure it makes you happy though.

eh, I've never heard complaints from any of the other DE's on Tarquinas, there's plenty of sales and not enough DE's. Plus since I don't do any vendor sales I don't sell enough bulk to really screw with the market.

heh you do as you like...but somewhere there is something wrong. I don't know your server, and it may be you are not doing others any harm...and I do know you love droids for the sake of them (which is a Good Thing (tm))

But still, I wouldn't even answer a /tell asking me for an R3 at that price.

That said, you just be a happy crafter..its more important you are happy than anything in the end. I mean no sarcasm either. Just so long as you dont hurt any others significantly..then do as you please.

I'm sorry...but you should be moving the market up. Not enough DEs, dealing with higher demand, should be up'ing things some. Of course, all servers are different.

I sell fully loaded R3s on Ahazi for 60-100k routinely. One guy bought 4, right in a row.

Money is pretty plentiful...for a lot of players (now).

I think any DE that was really anything close to geared up when P8 hit does this cause they love droids. I'm pretty well off now, and I still do. It's never been about the money...it's just easier to roll now.

Absolutely. If you're not enjoying what you're doing, you should be moving on to something else.

I couldn't see that price hurting me much. I used to sell a TON just hangin' at the C-Net bank on Ahazi...Woody and I both did. I was fun...but laggy. After awhile, I knewI'd need to get a vendor going to ever do other things I wanted to accomplish in-game. To each his own though....

I charge 40K for a fully loaded R3, mainly due to the fact that I am not a master artisan so I have to get many of my parts from others. And those advance droid brains are a major resource drain.
