It's not as if batteries are needed all that much anyway. Sure, for the odd situation now and again but for the most part, I don't even need/use them.

I guess it's nice to see a change...I just wish it could be something that mattered more. /shrug

Respectfully,

All depends on what you're using the droids for TK... Whenever I do a music gig with the server's band, I usually have to have my power droid out and end up recharging everyone's droids 2-3 times during an event. With the extended battery life, I can actually pull out my own music or effects droid. Many of my merchants have complained about the 1 hour battery life, as have doctors... pretty much only people this doesn't effect is crafters, who don't need the power to use the crafting station (which would be nice if it were fixed).

Uhmmm.....I respectfully disagree. 1 hour duration to 4 hours will result in 75% decreased battery use.We willsee a strong reduction in sales. It is possible that increased Combat droid sales and useagewill offset this loss. I would have prefered that SOE also changed the Droid crafting stations to require power to operate at the same time this increase took place.

How many Color kits do we sell now?

I'm a master DE and i've had the same crate of batteries for a lil over a year now........

I payed 50 bucks for SWG but when I bought it I had no clue I was paying for the beta...

funny thing is I get charged 15 bucks a month and it's still in beta

This change makes me very happy. I have always stocked Batteries, but never really as a money maker, more as a convieniance item for my customers. If this will get more people buying Combat droids, then ever better.

Now to just get the 15 second delay to calling a droid removed. Next to batteries, that was the second biggest annoyance to customers.

the 15 sec delay i would say is one biggest pains in game , to handle what i do i dont have any combat and amount of times i get jumped in moeina starport is a joke when you have to be ,not in combat and then 15secs to get my only real means of combat out . these days i have to remember to get droid out before going into acutal city

This will possible keep battery sales the same - but definitely reduce color kits sales.
Why?
Because the battery life isn't that long, some people will store and call their droids when running from place to place to conserve the power.
Now they don't have to worry about power now, so stores will reduce.
Reduced stores means longer before the color customisation wears off

Great news.

Droid batteries have always been an annoyance to people. This is one more nice step towards making droids more usable and therefor more desirable for players.

i see tk421's point there are other things more critical...but also:

/agree, this makes having droids less of an inconvience, even though itll be a hit to our batt sales....id rather take a hit to sales of batts to increase overall droid sales.

This is definitely progress...just makes it a bit easier when dealing with functions that *do* drain a droid's power, unlike crafting! (which should change, I agree).

Now, how about letting us put a multi-charge battery a droid's Item Storage compartment and having it run till it can't run no more?

got to remember changin duration of a battery is prob just changing one value in a line of code. adding another droid chassis or other things is totaly different. so might be things more critical but they not so simple to do.

Don't forget about those people out there that don't bother with droids because they can't stand the short battery life. And there are many many of them out there. I've talked with several of them during a sales pitch. "Nah. Always having to keep a crate of batteries on me to recharge the thing every 15 minutes is a pain". We know it's not 15 mins, but that doesn't change their perception. It was far too frequent.

This doesn't decrease our battery sales.... this opens up a whole untapped portion of the market.

One major thorn removed from the DE communities' side. Thank you.
