No one is going to grind DE to get Force Crafting XP, they'll grind Architect Gungan heads. I really feel sorry for the Architects, they'll be flooded with people grinding FSXP.

The current conversoin rate of XP for Architects is 35:1, by contrast to the 5:1 rate for Droid Engineers. When it comes to crafters under the FS system, there simply won't be any grinders due to the massive amounts of XP and resources that will be required. Even with the Gungan Head grind, it will require almost 34,000 heads at a cost of 6.8 Million Ore and 3.4 Million Gemstone. For a DE to grind through it will require just over 53,000 Advanced Droid Frames at a cost of 7.95 MillionSteel and 3.71 MillionFiberplast.

I just don't see anyone in their right mind picking up Architect just so that they can grind away 34k gungan heads.

I have made it a habit of avoiding all topics regarding the FS Quests, but since the publish is (?) coming in tomorrow, maybe its time to take a look. The grind to Master DE, if I remember, took 300k plast and 800k steel, right? The resource needs for the DE FS XP based on the number of resources a previous poster listed isnt too bad. I know people who could grind up 800k steel in less than a day. Bah! I'll just wait for the dust to settle before messing with this stuff.

Crafters do have decay on resources. As we use it it GOES AWAY. And when it's gone, we have to get more. - Elekae

I just realized that I was off by a zero when I made the above post.

Seems far more efficient to do it with Architect to me. I'll probably do my normal droid crafting, then just use Arch when I am grinding.

So in order to be the best crafter, you have to get the force skills? Just checking... That means the entire server will be full of force sensitive pc's? With no limit on that?

Nope.

The force quests do not give an experimentation bonus. They offer an increased chance of Amazing Successes, reduction of crit fails, increased chance of repairing an item, and improved Assembly bonus.

Now, if we look at the experience costs, currently it will take a minimum of 1,275,000 FS Crafting XP, or 6,375,000 Droid Crafting XP to fill up one tree. I really hope that the DEVs reconsider the removal of the Experimentation point bonus and simply make it so that they total cap off clothing and FS skills is +3. This would justify the experience point expenditure for crafters...

Being forced to totally gind it to get even close is lame.

Well, the difference here (from the old system) is that a person can be an MDE and stilli get a visit by the Old Man. They want you to be able to move forward on the quests by doing what you want to be doing anyway (crafting droids).

Whether or not that's a 'grind' for you is a mindset. I can see how many people will view the system as a similar grind to the old one. Any system they would put in place be 'grindy'...that's unavoidable, I suspect.

/bow

Respectfully,

True -

But, since there is no droid crafting xp granted for the normal use of factories in normalDE crafting, moving forward is at a snails pace.

Apart from custom orders there is no reason to craft by hand. Thus, I have only accumulated 110K of droid crafting xp since pub 8.

To become a FS master craftsman will require the droid crafting xp equivalent to doing Master DE 20 times. There is no way to do this in normal game play. Whatever you call it - getting FS xp will mean going back to the same old grind.

I have been MDE since September of last year. I just broke 200k xp and have not hit the limit.

I use my factory most of the time and get 0 xp from it, so this will be a 13 year project for me.
