Yep, these are the guidelines that I'm aware of:
- 25 characters or less
- SOE naming filter applies
- No numbers

I had a customer come in today and buy on of my Det droids. It was an R3 but he was going to use it as an R2 Helper Unit. I made it the appropiate colors for him and transfered it back. He then tryed to name it RZ_Helper_Unit. It would not stick to that name. I have seen other droids around with names like "come_to_my_shop_on_tat" and stuff like that. Why would this name not stick? Was really cool he even had the newb clothes made and he was wearing them. Was gonna go up to the jedi acting like a total newb.
If someone can explain why the name wouldn't stick and some ideas of what to name it that would be great
Also can you rename a droid once it is named?
Thanks

I believe that "Helper" is a reserved word and therefore you cannot name your droid anything that has "Helper" in the name. This goes along with other player naming restrictions. Yes, once a droid is named it can be renamed to something else. Just follow the same procedure with programming 4 different commands.

Helper is not a reserved word. My Droid is named Atrella's Helper, it works fine. I can't see any reason that name would not work. It is possible your customer was just doing something wrong. Sometimes naming can be stubborn as well. Try changing it to something else first, then that.
