Whoah whoah whoah... I don't know bout that. Drashk is caught in a very tough spot here. On the one hand he has to represent a riotous and angered mob of players, and on the other hand he has to try and get across to them that the Devs plan is probably the best one. It's a job that makes enemies on all sides, and even after it's done there'll always be animosity. I find it amazingly brave of him to bear through it all and stay with the job.

Quoting this for effect.

Drashk has basically been told this is the way it's going to be. But he's managed to get the rednames to at least pay attention to our complaints... and this is while chefs are being nerfed and well, with their new food system chefs will be more rare than Jedi Masters who are fish.

This post represents the epitome of our plight. Feels good to read it... and then feels like crap when the reality of it sinks in. Too bad the dev's still don't get it

I'm not defending any side but I think what JustG said on 12-15-03 pretty much says it all:

In the end, we have to make the game that we think will be the best game possible. JustG 12-15-03

By the way, the "we" in that statement isn't the players.

what new items can a weaponsmith craft?.... nothing that I've seen... same since launch.

also, what do you think Bio-Engineers do?.... they make pets for Creature Handlers.... just like Droid Engineers will do for Droid Masters.

I agree, it doesn't make much sense but that's what they designed. Personnaly, I think Droid Engineers should be able to make/use their own... I also believe that Creature Handlers should be able to make/use their own.

Shhh, that is a 'FEATURE' until the chef corresepondent is either immolated by the chef community or is replaced and the Devs go, 'but I thought you guys wanted it this way.'

Oh, right, sorry.

Hopefully not tho, but thats another thread in another forum.

I don't like the idea of making my best droids for L33T D3WDs.

Yeah, that really irks me. To put all this time an energy into the profession, only to have its fruits handed over to hardcore combat types really gets me. We deserve to be geeks with droids. That is what being a droid engineer is ALL about.

Correct. However...

An indescribably pivotal aspect of attaining that goal is paying attention to the fundamental business precept that the customer is "always right". What I mean is....it's vitally important for them to gather and understand information about what the paying customers say is "good" and "bad" about their product/service. It's the reason that movie companies to "test screenings" and market research galore. Knowing what the customer wants, and will continue to pay for, is key to both their revenue goals and all of us just wanting to have FUN (and get something closer to what we all thought SWG would be when we bought the box).
