Asteroids, I remember back when I was moving up the DE tree I was so excited to make my First Adv. R2.

I spent over half and hour creating all the Parts by Hand (no crates at all), and was so disappointed when I saw the message come up -> "Critical Fail"

After I got enough resources and now that I have 3 Factories, I try to never make components by hand, I would rather wait the hour or two to do a run in the factory. You are right, Factory Crates are DE's best friend.

Would be nice if they raised the amount of stuff that goes into Crates too. Let us stick 100 Brains in a crate.

Yea and they work also.

Crates are indeed your friend.

Actually it can take quite awhile to make armor as well. You need to run layers in factories which then run segments in factories. At that point you can do it by hand or factory make the armor, though with the hides its harder to get quantities of material. A suite of composite takes me about 20 minutes to make. Also armorsmiths are beholded to tailors for at least 5 different parts.

Still think DE is harder, but armorsmiths dont get off easy.... now those weaponsmiths.... jk.. i dont know..

I'm sure Armorsmith is no walk in the park either, so I sympathise. Do you have to create a component that is a sub-component of another sub-component that is another component of another sub-component that is a component of a sub-component.......

Crikey I'm depressed now, off to make some crates to cheer myself up.

If I may suggest...don't waste your lots with a large house if you are using it for storage. Here's the math:

Large House: Six lots, holding 250 items
Med/Small House: Two lots, holding 150 items

Just setup a bunch of small houses. You hold more items and it costs you less lots.

you know vehicles were the most uncreative thing ever done in this game(except for DE, but that may have been just too creative and shortsighted). Two chunks of metal and boom you have a vehicle. How bout leather for the seat, a control unit, GP module, copper for the wiring, etc. MSE droids and personal harvesters take more creativity to make than these things.

I think that schematic was left very simple (save for the gathering of resources) in order to facilitate the emergence of vehicles.
