Even though we got some bad news regarding the Hybrid plan, it was at least seriously considered by the devs. We do have a lot of bright people here that can argue constructively, so how can we apply this going forward? It seems like what's in store for publish 8 is 100% non-negotiable at this point, but the life of a DE doesn't end there.
I do hope we will continue to get some fixes after 8, since there is certainly a lot of work to do. Many of us holdouts will stay or leave depending on how publish 8 turns out.
IMO, the only thing left to do is to sit and wait. And wait silently. No more proposals. No more votes. No more feedback. No more sweating over a solution which will only be shot down. Sit and wait and let the DEV's roll out the DC that they always planned to roll out from the beginning despite us. Let them repeat their blantant failure with the Bio-Engineer/Creature Handler model. Let them roll out their "balanced" solution that will fall flat on its face because its not what their customer base wants. The only response I can imagine giving them at this point is dead silence. Frankly, I don't care to hear anything more from them either.
Right now there's no other crafting profession that holds an interest for me. But that will change when the space expansion rolls out. I think I'd enjoy building starships as much as I originally thought I would enjoy building droids. I expect too that many current hard core droid engineers will feel the pull to get into starship building as well. I just hope it doesnt end up like vehicle building. Talk about a market that went from hot to dead fast. It lasted about two weeks.
Last option is the old min/max game going with whatever is the latest king of the hill combat template and just stop trying to swim upstream. Run with the herd. MOOO!!!

You got it all wrong pal.
It is:
MBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Yep I think you are right, and what bothers me is I can see the devs in the distance putting on their wellie boots.
This may only make sense to Brits, and especially the Welsh
, but nevermind.

I believe I know of which you talk, however, as long as they are not wearing velcro gloves ya'll might be safe.

Heh no danger of Velcro
I believe all Devs are issued with special, full composite, Teflon...just so they understand how normal people play.
It has the added advantage of being 'wipe clean'

I don't like their utility module comments, or the armor nerf, or a plethora of things that most DE's are upset about. But, as I see it, the ONLY way to CHANGE things is to work POSITIVELY. ANYTHING else will accomplish nada, zip for the DE profession, IMHO.
In the end, the future is NOT now. Just because these are the two big patches for DE, does not mean that things for DE cannot be included in future patches. We may not get alot at once, and there may be patches without anything, but I would surmise that some patches, we will get some things. That is the point of the correspondents, to help push things all the time, constantly, towards the devs. Repeatedly beating them over the head with our bugs and top issues.
It seems alot of people list new or nifty changes to DE in their top 5 issues, so if the correspondent periodically refreshes such a list, even if not much has changed, it shows the devs that the wants, needs, desires, wishes of the DE are still alive and well and they'd better pay attention.
I not only think that, over time, we will receive some bug fixes, of the correspondent keeps plugging away at the devs with them, but that we will also receive some new things every now and again, or a twist on old, because of the top 5 issues list including such things, and because the correspondent gleans such ideas from the boards and presents them to the devs, whether they are in the top 5 (top 20) issues or not. Although it would be my guess that the top 5 (top 20) has the most power and urgency, as the devs have to have priorities.
"I have a feeling that very soon "It's in the combat balance" will be replaced with "Sometime after the space expansion", which will be the blanket reply for not only the combat professions but now the crafters as well. One stop shopping... " ----- I do have some concerns along those lines, and so I would respectfully ask TK if he can bring this up at some point with the devs. I understand that things change, I would rather have them tell us stuff like "It's in the combat balance", even if that's subject to change, than not tell us anything. BUT, I would like them to, after such a huge change that affects so many in-game professions and systems, that they would re-assess everything that was put in the game with the paradigm that changed, in mind. I will gladly pipe up with this concern, each and every time it happens. Because it will, unless they totally shut down ever saying anything at all (which they may be doing now, because if constantly attacked, there is no benefit to them ever telling us stuff like that anymore).
