Thread: If you are new to Droid Engineering or to this forum, please read.
I think the thread was started with the right 'spirit' in mind..gently persuasive and offering the hand of friendship once certain reading obligations were taken care of. Obligations I say, its only fair to do a little homework for such a complex prefession as ours.
That said, I was totally confused as to what to do on my first days back in game when Pilots asked for Astromechs....I missed JTL entirely. Happily my old guildie is now a Shipwright and I found out fast.
I do believe we have some of the best 'stickies' of all the forums..Grats big time to the hard work of the unmentionable fellows who keep them up to date

The only people with the power to delete posts are red names and forum admins. Even then, none of the posts get deleted, they just get moved. If you would like to know why your posts were deleted you can as usually either virrago or Garva as they're the ones in charge of that kind of thing.

I've seen a number of posts pointing out various problems and shortfalls of SOE that don't get deleted, it just requires that you keep things civil. Comming up with conspiracy theories and throwing around accusations is generally not considered civil, especially not in the DE boards which I like to think tends to be a bit more cool headed and mature than most others.
Don't lecture me about civil, I was more than civil. I was painstakingly civil. And the two other posters were nowhere NEAR civil. Yet we see who got deleted and who did not.
I was abundantly civil. It didn't matter ONE bit.
I have looked through these posts and carefully considered what has happened, and let me say this:
I personally believe that based on what I've seen, the tones and words used by others, and the tones and words used by lamgwin, that Garva simply does not like lamgwin and it is influencing his decision making when moderating. Lamgwin may come across with a know-it-all tone, but that is hardly worth banning.
I've been told since I brought this xp thing up:
"Here is some advice: Enjoy the game. If you find some aspect that you do not enjoy, don't use it."
"they need to give you and the other fifty million people like you their own forum. I would call it the **Mod Bot - Be Nice** Forum. That way people could argue back and forth with each other on a subject that is going no where and will never stop. We are DE's. We make the droids. We don't dictate how much xp they will give you. "
"XP is shared equally with all group members. There is even a +3% increase to xp for each group member added.Did you not get the memo?" (Notice the nice little addition at the end there, by a correspondent no less, condescending enough for you Garva?)
I didn't hear any interjections on MY behalf when people were condescending ME.
I think Garva knows that it is not worth banning someone for something as flimsy as "you're a know-it-all", but simply doesn't like lamgwin for this reason, and most likely also disagrees with him, and it is causing him to single lamgwin out.
It's not a "conspiracy theory" to think that a moderator, a human being, could be petty. Apparently, Garva is.
