Thread: An elite crafting profession where your most expensive good is like 55k...
I'd like to see a chef or tailor sell something for 55k
Remember an items sale price is ralative to how much stuff is needed to put it together, no elite crafter professionswere created equal

You talk about fully loaded R3 Adv on Bria being sold for 55k. Well, I don't know what your configuration is on that but I sell "The Works" (4 crafting modules, 10-item storage and 110 Medical) for 100k. And I can hardly keep them around. I sold 3 the first day I started making them.
I don't know how you guys do it...
It's an ancient Ithorian secret.
But seriously...
It's all in how you pitch the product. Seriously. You MUST sell the user on the actual (or perceived) value of the product in question. Just imagine...
Client: "100K? That's ridiculous!!"
Me: "Okay...I understand your trepidation. However, keep in mind that a crafting station in your house will run you about 35-40k for a good and...and these make you mobile all the time. How much would you pay to have all 4 possible crafting stations (which yield benefits identical to a +43 crafting station) AND allow you fully and total mobility to craft anywhere, anytime?!?"
Sale closed. Droid sold.
That's all it takes.

Respectfully,
The droid can also hold your crafting tools for you along with some resources! It's amazing!!!

Some conclusions:
Amrorsmith / Weaponsmith make around 30 - 80 credits per unit used in making their items
Architechsmake about 2 - 10 credits per unit used in making their items
Droid Engineers make 15 - 30 credits per unit used in making their items
Chefs, I don't know but the chef in my guild loves to cook and is making money so he's happy.
I think that's a little high.

For God SAKES KEEP BH DROIDS STOCKED! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
12 DE's last night to find one with a stock on bloodfin.. heh
For me to do a factory run of Seekers, it ties up approximentally2.5 days of constant factory time. That makes 499 seekers, which I sell at 1k a piece which nets met about 500k credits only. That same factory time can be spent on droid components (ie: advanced R3s) which I sell for 70k each and can make about 50 of them in that time easily. That's a net of 3.5 mil which is 7x as much as seekers get me.

Actually it isn't on my server. I have a pricing schema I use based on quality of components, quality of droid, quality of resources and the final experimentation ammount on each component. I use really high quality resources now, so the final quality is a lot better. Breaking it down at a flat credit/per unit I average around 18 - 22 credits per unit for every droid I have made. I created an app I use to get the final numbers so I have standardized pricing. I let my customers know that more expensive droids are more expensive because they are actually higher quality and overall just a better droid.
Having standardized pricing helps me stay in business as opposed to those who pull numbers out of the air. As for my pricing on Tempest people do not find it too expensive.

I'm on WH and I do the same thing... people laugh at me because I give them quotes like 16546 or something like that. LOL It lets me have a basis which I can backup when people question my prices. Having said that, I divided up my cpu into two categories. General resources and specific resources (ie: rare). General is 10cpu, whereas rare is 30cpu I believe. Having said that, you don't use many rare resources so prices don't get changed that much.
I do know for my crafting stations, the aluminum I use I could easily sell it for 100cpu. LOL
Things to take into account when crafting droids:
- Every time I hit the assemble button there is a risk It will critically fail
- Every time I experiment there is a risk it will critically fail
- On final assembly I could lose everything to a critical fail.
Consider certain multipliers (an insurance) when building your components. Having nothing fail wil yeild you your best price.
I suppose it's the hologrinder architects mostly... But low grade ores in general are mighty scarce, and I don't exactly have a lot of lot space available for harvesters, and Manipulator Arm Package Sets have to come first.
I know the feeling. When taking custom orders I have to give a price range then explain how I price droids. I have found people doing business with me more often just for that reason.
