Thread: Centralized Droid Issues (17/11/03 8:16pm PST)
Good point... should I start a forum post here or under the general forum sections to get them to stop making mouse bombs? Think about it.
Tame Droid (tame?)
Send on attack.
Detonate.
Tame another droid.
and so on...
Nothing would irk me more than to have a customer come up and say "Forget the Probot with level 6 armor modules and give me a crate of mouse bombs. They work better than grenades anyways."
The only effect of a personality chip is that the prompts and replies the droid uses are customized.
So if you program your droid, or give it orders, it will respond 'verbally', and the chip should modify that.
For instance, my 3PO has a 'slang' personality chip in it, so when I teach it commands it prompts me with things like 'What you be wanting me to learn?' and such.
Adding random utterances, as well as more spoken words in response to events around the droids would be fantastic, and make a huge difference.
One more thing: My 3PO did NOT start using his 'slang' until after I'd stored and called him.. It didn't work on the initial 'tame'.
"Adding random utterances, as well as more spoken words in response to events around the droids would be fantastic, and make a huge difference."
Droids with personalities used to do this, so the code is there... just wasn't very often that they said anything.
TwothingsI didn't see mentioned asbugs (sorry if I missed it) that I'm getting...
1. When changing the colours of another persons droid, the colourchanges aren't visible to the owners, until they are applied. - Very annoying this, having to try and explain the shades etc and my customers are having to hope they get what they want, rather than being able to say "yep that colour".
2. If the owner retrieves the droid too soon after colour changes have been applied (seconds) then the change is lost. - Only happened once to me, but I'm sure this is what happened.
Good point on the first one. Would be nice to have verification on the second one.
I haven't seen the "magical changing armor" bug since last patch. Anybody else confirm/deny this?
Ahh yes thinking about it Drashk, that sounds like the cause of mynumber 2 problem (oooer). White was the requested colour that didn't stick. Sorry to mislead. I'll try it out as soon as I can, to say for 100% sure.
As for the changing droid colours, I kinda like it on my advertising R4, because I can never make my mind up what colour it should be and often the colours are really gross, so great for catching the eye
Seriously though, so far I've found that once some colour/s are applied to the droid they stick. However I've seen one case (so far)ofthe droidreverting to this multi colour change stateonce the customisation/s have completely faded away.
A comment on section 5.U - BLL's
I just read a post below from a customer wanting to know how much storage a BLL can hold. I would love to see a graded storage system in place where an MSE could hold a level 1 storage module, but the BLL would be able to hold multiple lvl 6 modules, maybe up to 150 or more items?
If you want scale, why can i hold 60 items in my inventory and with a travel pack another 50, (110 total) but a HUGE BLL can only hold 10? Not very good for that "immersion" that the Dev's seem to want to achieve.
This has been proposed before I think in the discussion on module levels with different droid types. Seems it would be reasonable way to expand the reality here.

MA/MDE
I hit master DE on Bria a couple days ago...so far every droid I've sold has had buggy problems with it. From multiple crafting station modules glitching to medical modules not working for some odd reason, its getting to me. I feel bad giving people Droids that just don't work, not because of my skill as a DE, but due to game bugs that keep popping up. I also find it pointless to build a power droid, and then not be able to use it on your OWN droids because you can only have 1 out (except as per the exploit, and I swear, if the devs take out the exploit before they fix the 1 droid out at a time, I'm gonna rage) I guess I'll just have to wait for things to get done, but until then... my money is just sinking into the ground, with droids that don't work.

It still happens to me all the time (adv. probot, 2xlev4 armor, medical + repair modules). Storing and recalling the droid fixes it. (For like 5 minutes... Then it's all gone again.)
Anyway, I'm happy to see that it's a known bug. Thought it was just mine.
