Where did you hear that ? I have not tried a big enough sample, But I have noticed what seems to be a tendancy for quality of components/resources, to increase a chance for better experimentation successes. , ?
It's not so much something I heard, but just the general conclusion that many of us came to long ago (and very well could change and we wouldn't know). In short, mechanism quality either means nothing at all, or it means less of a chance of crit fail. We never really found out, because to be honest no one really knows how the crit fail system worked/works now in conjunction with crafting stations - no one really knows what the difference statistically is between a -12 rated crafting station or a +43.99 one -we just know one is better than the other.
In the cases of overall experimentation in general in the game, the chance of a crit fail is based on : player skill (at least it is now for sure), quality of the crafting TOOL, quality of the crafting STATION, and the resources figure in somewhere - and in some tests it showed that with DE'sthe mechanism quality may effect the final chance of a crit fail.We don't know it for a fact because we have no real base to compare it to - all evidence is anticdotal as best because of the "random" part of the system.
And what makes what diff ?? I got a probot with max Combat modules (110 modules, 330 clusters) Experimented to 99 percent in final build to 1094 HAM, but the speed is, .8 somthing and I hear of .7 somthing speeds in others Probots. So what controls speed if not combat moduules ? Brains in final Probot ? MSS ?
Are you putting a total of five combat modules in a Probot? If you put 5 "110" modules in a probot (for a total of 550) you should have .75. .8 is what you would get if you only used like 4 modules. The speed/damage is only dependent on the rating of the combat modules - nothing more (this we are relatively sure of).
I have read the FAQ and have learned nothing really about droid experimentation, and componenmts /resources quatlities. Can someone tell me.
What Is Known ? (and or where to find this out)
Not much to know really :
1) Experiment as high as you can on the combat modules themselves (as you have done well), and
2) Experiment on the final droid deed to get higher HAM. The only thing that affects this the quality of the chemical you are using.
So right now, except for good cond/OQ metal for the combat modules, and good OQ chemical, that's all you really need for the construction of droids. Other than those two things (oh, and crafting modules I guess, but no one has ever proven that that made a whit of difference either) experimentation does not matter. As I said initially, it MAY effect the chance of an overall crit fail in the case of mechanism quality, but there is absoultely no change in the quality of the final droid deed based on mechanism ratings.
Droid stimpacks are an entirely other matter, which I know little about at this point - but from what I've gotten from it so far it's just about the same system of experimentation (charges/effectiveness) as regular medicinal stimpacks.
