Thread: DISCUSSION: Grinding through DE (sticky isn't enough) info & questions. Haters don't bother
Level I boxes - 104 ADF X3 boxes = 46800 Steel 21840 FIber
Level II boxes - 146 ADF X3 boxes = 65700 s 30660 f
Level III boxes - 186 ADF X4 boxes = 111600 s 52080 f
Level IV boxes - 228 ADF X4 boxes = 136800 s 66840 f
grand total of - 664 ADF - 360900 steel - 168420 fiberplast.
Well, your resource calculation was right.
But your grand total of actual ADF's is a bit low. It's 664 to go all the way through one tree. Once you hit BP2, you're looking at 2406 SUCCESFULLY CRAFTED ADF's to get all the boxes. But that is 360900 Steel and 168420 Fiber, so that part came up right. Not really "nit picking" the math, just wanted to make sure people saw the correct, staggering number of ADF's needed to master this thing.
I have (I'm setting myself at 0 XP even though that's not accurate) 1120 ADF's to go... ![]()
168000 Steel and 78400 fiber. Gee, and I think I have a massive 21K steel and 30K fiber right now.. heheh
On a more personal note, i'm Currently 1/2/4/4. The resources are hitting an all time low for me, but things are still moving along. I've completely bought out the only good dealer I could find (he was selling bulk of both for 2.5cpu) and i've been buying up every steel/fiberplast resource that is listed on the bazaar for 3.5cpu or lower, so I guess now it's all a waiting game.
I got my 0001 DE box a week or two or three ago and I havn't touched anything droid related since (not counting the DZ70-oh-no-I'm-being-pwned-by-butterfly I named ChaseI. The coolest the thing with him is the fact that since he isn't usefull in a fight, I can without feeling guilty for it, make his attack command 'engage' instead of 'a') and I'm sick to the bones of MSE's. Since I'm too lazy to travel of planet for my extrusive ore, I spend my time tailoring instead. Which is fun, but it's not the profession I decided I wanted to play before the game was released (hah, I almost said "left beta", but I caught myself before making such a blatant display of faulty judgement).
So someone mentioned something about "medical MSE". It doesn't sound like your average MSE, which immensly improves my mental health. Is it just the normal MSE with the craft bonus for the med module added in, or does the fact that you incorporate them into the same little black body yield extra exp?
The finish macro that you posted didn't work for me.
/nextCraftingStage; - what is that suppose to do? Go from the page where you dump in all your resources into the slots to the next page? If it is it didn't work. Any ideas?

I appreciate you taking the time to search first. Cant answer all your questions away from my home PC, but MSEs to Adv Frames to MDE is THE way to do it.
Get medium extractors with Base Extracton Rate 10. You'll need like 6 mineral and three chem and a power harv (fusion is best). Put them on steel and fiberplast and wait for them to harvest your resources. Buying is too expensive.
Actually, it is significantly faster to build Manipulator Arm Package Sets from Blueprints I to Blueprints II if you have access to Extrusive Ore. Extrusive Ore is uncommon, but not all that rare, so if you keep an eye out for it while you're grinding through Engineering and Blueprints I you should be able to harvest the 17k or so that you'll need. Or just buy some - even at5 CPU (an exhorbitant price for an LG Ore) the 85k it costs you is trivial compared to having to build another 249867219 of those blasted MSE droids.
Handy conversion formula for harvesters:BER * 1000 = 24-hour output on a 70% spot.
One Fusion-Ion Generator pulls down 14k per day (70% concentration assumed), which is enough power to run 9 medium harvesters. If you're not a crafter by nature and don't have a house, Sodan's recommendation is the perfect ratio because it fills all of your lots and uses everything at a perfectly timed rate of consumption. Of course, you'll need to be able to harvest Radioactive for that to work, and Radioactive isn't always available. Have a backup plan or else build up a reserve of power before you start running your steel and fiberplast harvesters. Another option is simply to purchase the power you need - it's easy to find for 1.5 CPU and can be found for less if you look around a bit.
If you want to actually play while grinding, as opposed to purely macroing your way through the profession, then run Artisan Loops while crafting. I was able to earn about 100k XPs and 24k credits per hour while chatting with guild-mates as I worked my way up to MDE. All you need is an Artisan Mission Terminal and a spot 1024 (or so) meters away that has at least 3 resources at or above 70%. Search through the missions until you find 2 (total) for the 3 resources you have available, craft while you run out, survey, then craft while you run back. Takes about 7-8 minutes per loop which is enough time to do about 40 practices of an ADFU.
Ok, im lost...
Here is the macro as I have it:
/ui action toolbarSlot12;
/selectDraftSchematic 272;
/pause 3;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
I hit the macro, it opens the tool, it selects the proper draft schematic (mse droid) the screen shows the inventory box to add items but then it just closes.... nothing happens, no xp, no practice item made (no countdown on the tool)...
Have I missed something?

Are you actually entering the resources by double clicking on them, while the macro is running? And are you standing by a crafting station while running the macro?
