Droid Skill Attachments FAQ v.5
There are four types of skill attachments that are directly applicable to the Droid Engineer profession:
Droid Assembly
Droid Experimentation
Droid Customization
Droid Complexity.
The maximum benefit for any attachment is a total of +25. These can be stacked, but not in the same piece of clothing. For example, if you have two attachments for Droid Assembly, if you put them in a piece of clothing, only one of those attachments will work. The other one will be lost to you. As a result, you must put attachments in many different pieces of clothing so none get lost.
The best set of clothing that you can use for a "crafting outfit" is the one that allows the most pieces of clothing. This includes gloves, belt, footwear, pants, jacket, shirt, helmet, etc. The more pieces of clothing, the easier it is to obtain the max benefit from an attachment.
Droid Assembly is one of the two best attachments for droid engineers (arguably, the best). Essentially, it decreases the chances of a critical failure when crafting droid or droid related products. Droid experimentation is the next best skill attachment. Every +10 that you get gives you an extra experimentation point to work with. Droid customization is only useful to those people who are not master DEs. The higher the skill, the more skill points you get. Droid complexity is useless. It serves no purpose.

I'm almost done with my uber suit though... I'm currently at +22 xp, +18 customization, +15 assembly and I'm bidding on that +5 or +6 assembly tape right now. LOL I just need to max customization and assembly, then I can work on complexity. LOL
