Thread: No need for panic, an AR2 Probot is a CL150 pet says Runesabre.

I'm not sure on the exact numbers but I do think the point he was trying to get across was that the armor was way too high for a low level pet. I think I can only remember seeing a very few creature pets with medium armor, and most of those were CL50-60 (and all of which have been nerfed). I'd imagine if you look at a specific time from and compare it against most CL150 creatures it might match up, but either way the point is still valid. I really don't think its droids lacking power, I think its BE creatures that have way too much...
1. Whatever the point he was trying to get across left too much room for speculation..this is normal I know but it disappoints me to have that from Runesabre.
2. Again and again we see comparisons to CH and BE pets, but never to Faction 'pets'. Even then, why oh why do armour comparisons make any sense at all when the HAM's do not compare in the slightest. The whole point of droid armour is to balance the effect of the relatively low HAM.
3. Just what is it about people using droids as (admittedly low level) tanks that you disapprove of? From what you say above it looks to me like you welcome the armour nerf and now would wish to see BE pets nerfed even more. Why is it always nerf to the lowest common denominator..I just cannot fathom why you would want to prevent people from having a little fun, especially when it would add to your sales.

Runesabres right, a CL150 creature would have medium armour and 40% resists( actually a little higher), however id like him to show me 1 cl 150 creature out there that has 820 ham.........
Except that isn't what he said, is it now? He said the probot had armor like what would be found on a cl150 critter. He didNOT say the ar2 probot WAS a cl150 critter. He was not commenting on the ham, he was commenting on the armor.

Who cares how he worded it exactly he is saying they took out AR2 ratings for probots because that is the level of armor for a CL150 creature, which IMO IMPLIES that having this armor puts the probot at the level of a CL150 creature. Figure that albatross above has over 90k HAM with AR2, huge resists, and FS special. Maybe they should take 90% composite out of the game because it is already making me feel like a difficulty level 150, dont mess with me. Combat is about balance, balancing armor with HAM and specials. Droids should have some of the best armor, they're metal, they literally could be tanks (in the RL sense of the word). Make droids vulnerable to electricity (because they are metal and essentially electric), give them higher resists to kinetic and blast or stun. I think the droid armor/resist issue is pathetic, how could a droid be resistant to all forms of attack, I mean a high over current from an LLC is going to screw a droid up a lot more than some wookie beating on it with a sword. I think a solution to this is to put armor segments into droids and have them mean something, so I can buy high kinetic resist armor segment from an MAS and get that effect in my droid or at least let us spend experimentation on that aspect. Armor vs. HAM vs. Durability vs Power Usage, these should all be choices in the experimentation process, so I have to make a choice and a trade off. So if I decide I want AR2 with 60% resist to kinetic I'm gonna suffer on all other aspects, low HAM, more batteries, and the vitality may be down to 50 after a handful of battles. Spend all those exp points equally over all four and you get a droid akin to the combat droids we have now. I mean how did the pre publish probots with AR2 and 40% resists really unbalance the game, oh thats right they added a wopping 1k of HAM to it. Before and after the publish the success of a player with a droid is totally dependent on the player's ability to kill the creature. If you sick your rancor on high high level MOB there isa good chance even if you get incapped that the rancor is going to finish them off. If you get incapped while that R3 is fighting for you, well it wont be long before you are in the cloning center.
