Thread: Respec For ALL Professions: Droid Engineers Speak up NOW

I really don't see it happening, I don't think someone is going to go take DE for a day, then try make them selves all these seeker droids ect. Maybe if they didn't require the resoarces to make? lol But not when Resoarces and that have to be gotten. I also don't see someone starting the factories just for a day to do it
I'm sure people would, but the chances of it being highly abused like that, if at all..is slim to none.
I think that if someone can bring me, complete proof, that only combat classes where changed..then I might change my mind. But still, I think that everyone that has been effected and changed, by any means should get a chance for a Respec. To me, it makes sense, and its also fair to everyone.
Just my 2 cents
The thing is that people already have a lot of resources lying around, maybe not Tolium or Lidium, but other resources. For example, if the conversion system was setup for crafters, I could swap on over make myself a ton of power cores, houses, harvestors or whatever, Arch and DE resources are simliar. Same could be said for SW.
Some professions are harder due to resource reqs, but all it takes is a few idiots taking a profession for a day or 2 then pricing 90% less then everybody else.

Man you people that are against a equal respec pull your f*&king heads out of your a*#. They messed with the armor there for it messed with armorsmith which the last I checked was a crafting class. They messed with tailor along with for components for the armor, you can no longer be an artisan to make bone armor so artisan has been messed with. They added weapons and make some weapons require a certification to use so that is going to mess with the weaponsmiths which again is a crafting profession. They took my medical crafting and gave it to BE with is a crafting profession and how they figure doc is a combat unless you are like I was a TKM and master Doc and then the combat was the TKM not the doc. Do you all see the picture I wanted to get out of combat and into a crafting skill after the CU but because you all that think it is just a combat update you should only be able to go from combat to combat my a*&. You people that kiss a*& to the Dev, SOE and whoever else you think you can get some browne points with need to just shut the hell up. I am tired of you people whining about those of us that want thing back the way they were or close to it anyway. It is impossible on the gorath server to find a doc or a CM to heal wounds on a player that got their butt kicked by a gubbar due to this great update. Next you people that like it and don't want the respec into all profession are going to say it did not effect the entertainers or the scouts. The only thing it did not mess with was merchant, and politician but they have been effected by this CU also because people are quitting and that hurt the merchant because less people to buy from them and the politician because everyone is leaving the game because of this update you like. I have been playing since the beginning of the game with one break for a while recently for a couple of months and I have never seen Gorath as empty as it is now. So if you can tell me how other then "It is a combat update not a game update" (shut up) this does not effect all profession please one of you idiots speak up or everyone of you shut up.
- Publish 10: Jedis get to respec their skills (FS skills, etc)
- Post Publish 10 (or 11): Jedis FRS system gets "retuned" and reset
- Publish 14 (CU - correct?): Jedi FRS gets "turned off"for respec
I don't fault Jedi for those issues, but extending the personal attention that the Jedi profession has received to the rest of the classes would have been a good high road to take on behalf of SWG.
I like the realism of my DE trying to place harvesters on Endor or Dath while not getting ganked by (insert dastardly creature name here). I tend to lend it to the phrase "cowboy harvesting". My DE will definitely be carrying a crate of PSGs from this point forward (I know, energy protection only). Maybe its not a bad thing (from a game perspective) to have a non-combat profession recruit an escort or guildie for assistance on harvester placement. If you are really set on dropping that harvester in the middle of a (insert creature name) pack and lair, then all I can say is "caveat crafter" - let the crafter beware. If you manage to get that machine down where you want it - that's a pretty good feeling.
The game is really tough and frustrating right now because a good portion of it is either broken, bugged, or now buried from use. I think that Jenden is really striving to get DE stuff working - as are the other correspondents and (with a hopeful breath) the dev and player relation teams.
We just have to ride out the storm.
I use to enjoy all parts of the game I run 3 accountswith one as a crafter/combat, one as just combat, and one as an entertainer, crafter. I had just started my 3rd a few weeks before the CU but I grinded up to Novice Armorsmith, Novice Tailor and was going to go up to DE. I was going to go 0-3-0-3 on tailor and then master Armorsmith and DE. Yeah the respec is not going to help this toon. But I have TKM/MDOC that I wanted to take out of combat and do BE with either master DE or master AS. I have done both of those crafting in the past with some toons that I no longer have and enjoyed them very much. My 3rd was master ranger and was almost master merchant with a mix of different skills. I have seen a lot of crap be done to this game, I spend a lot of down server time on the forums looking for new recipes, new locations of resources, and just basically talking with other players about the profession. It just make me so mad that many of these people just don't understand that the CU effected everyone in major ways not just the combat people. I think most of the people that think it is fair are the ones that were getting their butt kicked by other players everyday in combat and this makes the playing field even in PvP but sucks for everyone in PvE and for people that make their living by crafting stuff that those idiots buy but they don't understand that just look at things with blinders on. The way things are at times on gorath server and I imagine on others that docs, armorsmith and droid engineers are hard to find. SOE needs to get everyone one free master skill or increase the skill points so you can master three elite skills just so you can have a doc in the guild or online by chance or an armorsmith around to get you some armor. They could allow everyone to master 2 crafting and 1 combat (this way you could maybe stand some ground to the creatures) or 2 combat and 1 crafting skill. I don't know what else to do the whole time that I have played this game I have never seen the Cnet starport not have anyone buffing or at least one person in and out of the medical center healing. There have beena few times there was only 1 entertainer in the cantina which is unheard of. Yeah I hated the CU and was thinking of quitting for a while but I have got use to it a little and like some parts of it (not many but some). I have been asking Dev and everyone about equal respec for all skills but they don't listen to anyone but the brown nosing people that think everything is great. I guess get a small army to go house with your or they need to get us some armor tanks so that we can drive into a group of rancor or at times a large group of gubbars to place the harvestors or allow for air drops of harvestors. SOE, Lucasarts, oh hell no one listens to the people that play the game unless you are saying good things about the game (selective reading I guess).
"We only see good things being posted by players so they like us they really like us."
Look, its simple. This is the Combat Upgrade. Because they have changed profession roles so drastically, they are allowing a respec so that people aren't trapped in templates that no longer do what they designed them to do.
While crafters may have been slightly affected by some changes, those changes do not fundamentally change the profession itself, requiring you to get a different profession to do what it was you were doing craft-wise before the CU. Doctors and BE's, who were affected in this manner, get to respec as a part of these changes, while Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths do not since their profession was affected but not in a manner that requires them to get another profession to do what they were doing pre-CU.
If or when the Crafting process undergoes an upgrade, I'm sure a respec will be allowed if circumstances dictate it. Until then, its business as usual. As much as I'd like to be able to instantly drop SW for Armorsmith right now, it doesn't make any sense to allow me to do so.
