Sometimes just being reliably there, having full vendors and a good selection is enough to get you lots of good business. I habitually stop in on other DEs and I find many of them empty or nearly so for one reason or another. Some have quit and are still registered, some have the same 10 pieces of garbage on 4 vendors day in, day out. People freak when they actually find a DE shop fully stocked and reliable. They freak even more when you are online and answering /tells.
