Sorry about getting off topic. I just got a little carried away in my happiness. Anyway. As far as the whole Hybrid thing goes. I don't think that the people who go straight for the hybrid and combat with everything else will dabble too much outside of the tree. To make good use of it they'd probably have to pick up either alot of cash or at least surveying 4. Then they have to make subcomponents. And boy do they have to make them. I think that the complexity of droid production would be in the favor of the combat people buying droids, as opposed to the partial combat people who pick it up and end up making their own droids.

Your plan is SOLID Sodan. Too solid. I would hazzard a guess that the Devs are being overly careful not to mess this up and raise hopes too soon.

The last time they thought they had it right they got shot down pretty hard. It would be really nice to hear: "We are trying to sort out how we could tie this into missions/other profs/ etc. etc. but I really think they are trying not to say something that's gonna 'cause another uproar like the "Your main becoming a Jedi" thing.

That's just me thinking and it don't mean much but it keeps me going.

Heh. Thanl you for your help. Yes, its a mis-quote, but that's a direct result of a TK's patented, trademarked AND copyrighted "doughbacca style breakdowns." Which for the record, TK, are really hard to read somethimes.

Yea...I know. They are hard to write too. Not as much time for such things anymore, I guess.

By the way, I put a good post together for the Corr. boards with links to all the DE Hybrid stuff, requesting guidance/info, etc.

I'll keep you up to date if/when things move forward.

Personally I'm hoping they Introduce it through the mini publishes the same way they are adding the main publishes, A few new combat droids here, some new droid functionality there (say equiping droids with weapons and making their modules useful) and then With one fell swoop put in the class with a main publish.

Hey, TK, dont you think its odd that this is the "droid invasion" and there have been zero posts from the devs on it since we went live? I remember the CH re-write being much more interactive. I guess we scared them off with our bile.

Come back devs! Throw us a bone, or a droideka.

You know, I had a lot of faith in Runesabre - based on his past performance elsewhere in Gaming.This is fast running out for me. Not gone yet but fast running out. I think he has become a 'suit' and that is depressing, cos he once had passion and imagination by the bucketful. I guess maybe promotion does that to a person.

I'm starting to think the devs we actually need to talk to, the ones who understand the game, are long gone for the green fields of EQ2 or the like.

I honestly do not understand why, of all the professions, we get such short change. This is no longer a matter of balance or 'checkers', this is getting very close to deliberate abuse.

It's not a whine, I honestly don't think there is a single one there now who understands droids.

If only, for a change, they would listen a little to those who do, my faith could still be restored. I'm afraid, deeply afraid, that we are on the 'back burner'

The quaint American expression 'Red Headed Step Children' seems more and more to be appropriate.

I would rather have a droid which increased the efficiancy of harvestors rather than combat droids, do you know how many people would wan't a droid if it could increase a harvestors efficiancy by 10%-15%, also have it so when it does increase the efficiancy of a harvestor it takes some "damage" so that every now and then the people who bought them have to come back and have them repaired and then well the Drod Engineers have a market.

Also I think the only droid which should be able to enter combat and perform wellat the moment should be probe droids as they have a blaster and were built to survive in harsh enviroments, and then it should only be able to be built by imperials as it is an "Imperial Probe Droid". An R2 unit if entering combat should only be able to do minimal damage with his little saw or electric shock things, and not take much damage (R2 in the movies fell to 1 blaster hit).

Something like a binary load lifter should also be able to do well in comat but that because its more like a big mech, they should have quite a high HAM, and if you stuck a load of blaster on them, and heck maybe you have the rebels version of an AT-PT?
