Thread: Personality chips
I called it out: "Hmmm.. Yes??"
Send it in to fight: "Run bad thing!", "I kill you.", "Do I have to?"
While fighting: "Dents make me mad.", "I'm still going", "This won't end well."
There are some other phrases it's uttered as well, I'm about to make a prissy probot -- just because....well, just because. I really want to make a PINK prissy probot, but I don't know when we'll be able to color our droids.
(grrr -- They need to change this stupid thing back to the old editor)
I put a sarcastic chip in an R5 unit and had it follow me on a mission.
When I got in a fight, it waited till I was on about my 4th or 5th creature from the lair, and all the sudden I seethis (had to get a screenshot, so this is an exact quote):
"Well, well. Guess it's time for meto step in here. Everyone always needs the droid's help." an R5 unit says.
I couldn't help but laugh at that.
Has anyone had problems with these? They seem to work sometime, and not other times. ![]()

Ackis,
I've seen that the Personality in question isn't enabled until you store and recall it. Once I do that, the personality seems to be "on". It's just on initially when I tame the droid for my client (I do this so it's easier to paint. I don't have to explain consent. /sigh).

Respectfully,
I already love my R-Unit, I seriously don't know why more people don't own droids they add immersion, good for RP and very useful (mine has lvl 6 Med Module, Chem/Food Crafting Station and top storage (Thanks Lincoln!))
I want another droid (Adv. LE Repair) to haul round supplies and just generally entertain me/others so wanted to know what types of things the other personalities say before I spend a fortune (for me) on another droid.
Thanks, and don't give up DE's, I love ya
My sarcastic protocol:
And now I suppose you're going to issue me a command...
NOW what do you want....
I can only get him to say a few things, the rest I forget, all pretty annoying though. The worshipful one is like, yes master, ok master, you're the greatest blah blah blah
yeah. they are pretty useless.
the only function that personality chipsserve at the present timeis to make it harder to train the droid.
Instead of a simple, one-list training menu, you get an annoying conversational interface in which it takesthree times as many mouse clicksto teach each training command, and you have to listen to the droid make innane comments while you do it.
And on top of that the converstational training interface that the personality chip usesis bugged. Some commands, like STORE and GROUP can't be trained, and you can't give the droid a name when using that interface.
It's just dumb all around. The personality chipserves no useful gameplay function AND degrades the gameplay experience at the same time. Mypersonal opinion is that they should justremove the chipsfrom the game entirely and return to the standard training interfaceuntil they've actually fixed them. They never should have been introduced at all in their current state of buggy non-functionality, since a non-buggy alternative to them already exists.
I just can't seem to sit down and knock it out. Maybe I can take some time (during factory runs, etc.) to do one this weekend.

Respectfully,
Most people (including DEs) are pretty ignorant of these chips actually. Lately I have been making some droids with personality chips for some of my guildies and they can be a hoot! I like the worshipful personality chip in a combat LE, good for a laugh. I guess it might get old fast after hearing the same sayings on a regular basis.
After he takes a beating he says something like "ooo that left a dent, master wont be pleased!" Or something very close to that.
