Thread: what resources needed for vehicles ?
By the way, has anyone noticed that generally-stocked metal vendors seem awfully low on stock these days? There is a shop specializing in ONLY steels right next to my old shop, and he's been pretty much out for the past week or so.
I wonder if the vehicle craze is going to crimp the resource market a bit... If it does, we may see some pricing adjustments.

Maybethey are hording the steel to make vehicles themselves!
Make a man a fire and he is warm for a night, set a man on fire and he is warm for the rest of his life.
LMAO

Well, Redskuller, if they do that, I will STILL have a bike... It's GOOD to sit on a large stock of metals!

The resource market has been in complete chaos with hologrinding. I had some decent gemstone stocked at 5cpu and it was all bought out ... to grind with. *acks*

Yeah, and I'm laughing my ass off about it. People who are buying steel in order to make vehicles en masse aren't going to be able to charge the same rates as those of us who mine our own resources, and so they're not going to be able to sell their products as easily. If a price war erupts, I can drop a lot lower than someone who is buying steel for 3 CPU. Or I can simply match their price and make more money due to my lower cost of goods.
Of course, since it's taking so long for them to release vehicles, I'm probably going to be on vacation (and unable to access SWG) when they're launched. That's going to suck because I've been preparing for their release for so long. ![]()
Yup vehicles go to MDE (at least that is the word from SOE, could change again).
Only saving grace is that I'm MA and MDE so I'll be making a few. But with those new resource reqs (if they are still true) I won't be supplying as many as I would have liked.
Maybe in time they will allow for the vehicles to be upgraded. Like upgraded armor from AS, upgraded weapons from WS, upgraded propulsion from DE, etc....
Ho...

Maybe...
The problem is that the demand will be high and that with + 10 k metal requirement to craft one everyone will need a lot of metal to craft a good quantity. To craft 10 vehicles you will need more than 100K metal, to craft 100 vehicles you will need more than 1000 K metal. You need have all your heavy harversters running at high concentration spot to get all these metal. I am trying store all the metal I can harverst, but problably I will have metal only to craft + 20 vehicles (and if I don't try craft landspeeders and if I stick to craft only sweepers and speeders...).
IMHO will be a lot hard to someone make a price war. No one can craft a lot of vehicles to fullfill all the market. We will end at a situation where every crafter will sell all their vehicle stock and the demand will stay a few days.
IMHO, when the metal stocked with each crafter end, all the crafters will buy metal and the metal price will go up. The vehicle price will be determined by the metal price at the market and not by the metal coust to be mined. If I sell my vehicles using the metal mining coust later I don't will have money to buy metal at the market. I am sure that my first 20 vehicles will last a few hours at my vendor and that I will need buy metal at other vendors if I wantcraft more vehicles. All my heavy harversters can give me enough metal to craft 6 or 7 vehicles per day (if I craft landspeeders, only 4 vehicles per day), but while the resource don't shifts. Then I will need buy metal at the market to craft more vehicles to supply the high demand and while the high demand stay (IMHO, we will have half week with high demand, when all the vehicles you deploy at a vendor will sell fast, later we will need days to sell each vehicle).
IMHO there's some crafters that have 1000 K metal stored to craft vehicles. They will make circa 100 vehicles and IMHO these vehicles will sell at the first day. If the guy wants sell vehicles at the following day he will need buy metal. Who don't have 1000 K stored will make less vehicles that will sell fast at the first hours and will need find metal at the market that will have a higher price then.
Then it is better make our prices seeing the metal prices at the market, because we all will go to the market buy metal anyway if we want to continue to craft vehicles.
