Thread: Basic Droid Owner Manual

Sketh -- thanks so much for posting this. It's cleared up some mysteries for this droid-owning but non-DE Master Doctor.
I'm confused about power and batteries, though. If I recharge a droid with a battery, does that bring the droid up to a full charge?
I beleive so.
And if not, any idea how many batteris you need to feed a Surgical droid before it's fully charged?
One charge off a battery.
Does feeding more than one battery help?
To the best of my knowledge, no, charges do not stack for either time or effect. However, it is hard to tell as there is no indicator. Also, I don't know how much the experimental results on a droid affects the charge from a battery, or the experimental results on the battery itself (though, the better the battery, the more charges it will have).
It seems like a droid's effect on crafting and healing fades as power gets lower, but I don't know if that's real or just perception. Any clue?
I think it is perception, but don't have hard proof. That would be really lame if this is the case as there is no power indication.
I have this terrible feeling I'm wasting tons of batteries, but have no real idea (until the droid stops functioning) when his power is getting low or how many batteries it takes to bring him up to full charge.
I just let mine wear down, except for probots when I am out in the field, and I probably waste a lot on them due to lack of an indicator on them.
@Sketh and Ayiee
Thanks for your help.
Something should be said about naming conventions: I used special characters (underscores and numbers) in the name of my droid, and the droid works fine. But his name doesn't show up in his tag; it just says "a probot droid". I've unsuccessfully tried to "rename" it by just retraining using a proper name. At least I think it is a proper name, just 8 characters long, all uppercase, good old DOS naming convention ![]()
Is there any hope to get its name fixed, or do I have to buy a new one ? ![]()
The naming convenstion is in our consolidated known issues list - but I'll make sure to get that noted in V2 of the post

What does it mean when you call your droid and is says "Your droid's customizations have faded?"
